I am having a bit of trouble understanding the procedure
I made the purchase, downloaded it. Installed it, but it dont show up. Not even in my plug ins menu.
I guess its a bridge between LuxRender what ever that means.
I downloaded and installed LuxRender as promoted to in the installation guide.
When I load daz. Nothing changed. I been trying to figure this out for hours and I have no idea what to do.

WINDOWS 7 64bit.
Daz Studio 4.6.0.18

LuxRender 1.3.1

Mine appears under the Render menu in DS 4.6 as 'Reality Render' (Ctrl+Shift+L)

t is also in my Help > About Installed Plugins as :

    Filename:
    C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/Reality/Reality_2.0.dll
    Plug-in:
    Reality Engine
    Author:
    Paolo Ciccone - Pret-a-3D.
    Version:
    2.50.0.112

There is a folder called Reality in the plugins folder for DS.

How did you install it, was it in a ZIP file?

Yes it was a zip file with an install setup.
I was able to find the folder C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/Reality/ with Reality_2.0.dll inside.
Render menu in DS 4.6 dose not show anything for reality.
    (Ctrl+Shift+L) did nothing,.

This plugin is no longer sold in the DAZ store, but the creator of the plugin has his own website. It is called Pret-a-3D and can be found here : http://preta3d.com/reality-2-0/

They have a forum and Support page. I bought my Reality from DAZ, and it had an installer as far as I can remember.

What version of Reality are you trying to use with that version of DS?

Let's check everything is where and what it should be.
You have the right 'bit-ness' of Reality to math that of Daz Studio (32- or 64-bit)?
In the same folder as the DAZ Studio binary (DAZStudio.exe) you have a folder called plugins. In that folder you have another folder called Reality, and within that you have a file named Reality_2.0.dll
In DAZ Studio, when you click on Help> About Installed Plugins ... when you scroll down the list you should see an entry (they are in alphabetic order) Reality engine, and that should have a green plug shape in the Status column

If any of those are not so in your case, then we'll need to know where things diverge from what they should be.

When you ran the installer .exxe for Reality did you run it as an Admin?

Also, if you had an older version of Reality instilled or a previous instillation. Did you manually remove all the installed Reality files before running the installer?

Because the installer is putting files into the program folder you need to do both or it may not install the older files with newer ones.

The making sure to manually remove the older files was a problem I discovered whit installing.

I would have the plugin show up as not being installed even though it was until I went and manually removed all the old files it installed into the program folder of DAZ Studio and then ran the newest installer as an Admin.

I got it running now but I ran into a major problem. I was un aware that reality dose not calculate smoothing modifiers.
That is a huge no no. I rely heavily on smoothing mods. they make everything look so much cleaner.
IS there a way around this or should I just request a refund? I'm all for good renders, but I'm not willing to throw away my smoothing mod, for a render engine.

Well, I try to avoid smoothing where possible, but I am pretty much absolutely sure that that the smoothing modifier works with Reality.

I know this is an old thread, but if anyone has Reality Install challenges, verify which folder DAZStudio.exe is in. Mine is in daz (the old installation).
