(Solved) The 'ready-to-use' scenes from DragonPort don't work for me..
Hi gang,
I'm preparing myself to build my first "real" fantasy scenery and to that end I'm now also looking over some readily made examples. Some time ago I got myself the Genesis Fantasy starter bundle (which turned out to be an awesome collection!) and one of its components is the impressive Dragon Port.
Now, one point of confusion for me is that the bundle as a whole is focussed on Genesis whereas the Dragon Port seems to be focussed around Victoria 4 (since this is mentioned as the compatible 3D figure).
Dragon Port comes with 5 readily made bonus scenes. But although the preview icons show some figures present (like the Millenium Subdragon) these don't appear when loading those scenes. I do get to see the building, when looking at the scene properties it also shows that there are light and camera objects present, but no actors.
When looking at those files (DPscene01, DPscene02, etc.) I do notice that they're marked as "Set" and not so much "Scene", but surely there should be more present than merely the dragon port and floor objects?

No, the scenes (which were just Poser PZ3 files last time I downloaded) are to load an environment into which you pace the figures. They could include pre-loaded figures in the .duf files (if that's what they are), though they'd have to use the base textures to be sure of avoiding errors. The scenes should usually work with some of the included poses - that's how Danie and Marforno sets usually go.
Ah, that makes sense. And yes; they're still PZ3 files.
The source of confusion for me was the comment that these were ready to use scenes, that's why I assumed that these would have everything present.
Thanks for clearing this up for me.
If they are still pz3s then the lights and cameras won't really be any use, I'm afraid. Poser lights and cameras do not seem to import correctly (unless there's been a fix that I've missed through ignoring them as hopeless).
