DARK ARTS Time Particle Shader

edited December 1969 in Carrara Discussion

I have been watching Mark Bremmers Tutorial DARK ARTS about the particle Smoke Shader. He uses a Particle Shader MIXER and sets it to time. BUT as far as I can tell there is NO way to assign or set the TIME for anything? What am I missing?. Like one wants the color of the particles to change over TIME but I can see no way to SET that time

I remember that tutorial and it worked well from what I remember. The time factor I thought was based on the particle life.

Yes, I believe you are correct. The time in the shader is the life of the particle which is set in the emitter's editor.

I assume this is regarding our question about the rockets red glare ...

The time is the lifespan of the particles.
I found that using a color gradient you can easier control the color transition.
