Moved to DAZ Studio Discussion. If you want help editing your post to give it a more informative heading would be a good idea.

What do you want to do with the head - use it as a prop, or turn it into a figure, or apply it as a morph? Does it have materials or textures you want to use, or is it just the mesh?

i dont speak computer jargon so how about this

i made a head in a head making application, it has an obj file extension, i want to get the head and stick it on the body of a premade character in daz 3d, or a new body in daz 3d, is import the word im looking for?

    which head making application?

if it is Facegen by singular inversions there is a Daz Genesis exporter that creates a morph for DS4 Genesis head and a texture.
Genesis is the figure that loads starting studio.

I can also think of Looxis faceworks, this might be harder to do if you wish to integrate the head with a figure, not impossible but certainly not a beginner excercise

iClone also does heads and makehuman

in Daz store is faceshop an app made for studio

and yes you can import an obj file

it is faceshop and it has a obj file extension, daz 3d does not recognize it, iclone is useless for making heads, i need face shop obj to import to daz it it is possible

Faceshop should produce a morph target - an OBJ that can be imported as a morph, adding a slider to the list of parameters. However I don't have it and I think which figures it supports depends on the version. As Wendy says edit your first post to change the title to Getting Morph Target from Faceshop #, where # is your version of Faceshop.

As Wendy has suggested, If you change the thread title to "Face Shop help needed" then Abalone will possibly see it and pop in to help you himself. There are several threads in the Commons about Face shop, and he has posted in almost all of them at one stage or another.

Another thing you could do is send a PM to Abalone LLC and ask him directly http://www.daz3d.com/forums/member/680998/

I think Wendy was trying to tell the OP that people do know how to use the program, and If he asked the right questions he would get the right help. The you tube clip was to demonstrate what she does with Face shop, and she does use it regularly.
