New Carrara products and Carrara 8.5 Pro Promotion

For those who may not have spotted it yet, there is a great Carrara promotion launched today, with new Bundles of Carrara products by HowieFarkes and myself, new products, and an opportunity to get more money off Carrara 8.5 Pro if you haven't already got it.

    Great products. I only wish some of the single products were included in the promotion as I have some of the products in the bundles offered already.

    Wow Philw, I just looked over the Luxus for Carrara Resource Pack and I've got to say this looks really great and useable. I was wondering how to do volumetric effects in Lux, looks like you've already got a solution, and this will save me tons of time putting together a luxus library of most-commonly-used shaders (up til now I've only worked on skin shaders for luxus, as per the thread I contributed to a while back). You've just made Luxus a whole lot more useable for me, and I will definitely be picking this up later today, thanks and looks like an excellent product! :)

    Thanks for the vote of confidence! You need to set up your lighting to get the best volumetrics, using a spotlight probably works best, and if you need to make it thicker, just increase the Scatter Coefficient.

    I bought the Luxus for Carrara resource pack. Maybe I will start using Luxus now, as the complexity of setting the shaders kept me away from using it.
    After installing I was looking for the shaders and light objects, expecting to see it in the browser.
    Can you give instructions where will I find those in Carrara? Thanks.

    Hi Eyos, You need to add them to the Carrara browser, this is an irritating feature of Carrara that it does not pick them up automatically. So go to your Shaders tab and select the little file icon to the right, this gives you a menu including Add Folder. Navigate to the folder and select it to add it, it should be under [your Carrara folder]/Presets/Shaders/Luxus Shaders.

    You need to do the same for the lights and props, these should be added to the Objects tab and are in Presets/Luxus Lights and Presets/Luxus Objects.

    If you have any issues after that, please let me know. Happy rendering!

    I followed your instructions and it now works perfectly! Thanks.
    Maybe it can appear in the product page or a readme file, so people can easily find it.

    Yes, it needs to be done for any new folders added, so we probably just assumed that people would be familiar with this, but there is always a first time for anyone!

    Just a heads up that Luxus for Carrara itself is now on sale at 50% off, so if you haven't tried it, there's never been a better time to get into it!

    thanks for the heads up PhilW, I have both the sets in the villages pack and can highly recommend them to anyone sitting on the fence. Especially at this great price .
