Need help-can't launch daz

Hi

I was using daz on win 8.1 a day ago and had to uninstall daz and re install it again but this time daz won't open, not even as administrator. Can anyone help me please??

    Why did you uninstall and reinstall? That may be related.

    I uninstalled because of bad management with content and I couldn't work things out so thought I would start fresh and do it again, bad move I think.

    Well, uninstalling DS itself wouldn't affect the content or the CMS. If you go to the hidden C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\DAZ Studio 4 folder (you will need to enable the display of hidden files and folders in Folder Options in the view tab of the file browser) you will see the log.txt file - try opening that in a text editor, scroll down to the end and then work your way back up to the latest DAZ Studio Starting line - what date was that? if it's post-reinstall scroll down again and copy the last half-dozen lines of the log here.

    Thank you for getting back to me, before I saw your post I tried a restore and all is working great again, content still a mess but that is my doing so will set to work and tidy things up.....thanks again, have copied what you posted so if happens again I will post it thru.

    having similar issue, I put in a ticket. windows 7 moved to new 3TB hard drive, Since last loading the beta version I'm having data issue. many of my scenes were not loading. So'm doing a full clean uninstall and reinstall and I'm having a magor issue tryin to get studio of carrar 8.5 to run.

    I am also having trouble opening DAZ4.6 on my Win 8 system.
    I tried to load it on this machine a while ago. I can't remember the exact problems, but felt it was my fault, because I got confused during the download. I uninstalled everything from this machine and am trying again.
    The DIM and DAZ Studio seem to have downloaded okay, but when I click on the shortcut to open the program, it puts an icon on my task bar, but won't come up on the monitor. If I hover over this icon, I see the small image of the opening screen, as if it has opened normally. This icon also refuses to respond to the x command to shut down. The only way to clear it is to have the task manager "end task".

    Nothing else on this pc is malfunctioning.

    I don't speak computer very well, so please keep this in mind when making suggestions. Thanks.

    I hope this was the right choice...to add my question to a similar topic. Is this better than submitting a new post?
    I know that the monitors usually respond within a couple of hours once a post has been submitted, so I'll wait awhile before trying this as a new post.

    hi,, now I have same problem about carrara 8.5.
    I can confirm 1 months ago,, I could launch without problem, (Just changed HD and re-install and restore everything
    so that I needed to test about every aprication,, and Carrara 8.5 work well)

    Today, I hope to check new postgre sql how work with Carrara 8.5
    I understand I may need to keep Valentina CMS to use Carrrara smart content,
    but as for me it is not so important..(may only use content tab for Carara)

    but At current,, when I click carrara 8.5 exe, as admin, it flush and shut down.
    (not launch Carrara start window at all)

    I already re-install Carrara 8.5 and unsintall again,, or
    uninstall postgre sql etc(though I do not think it cause this problem)

    I hope to send support ticket, and hope to add log file, but I do no know,about Cararra 8.5
    where Can I serch log,,,

    I experienced same thing before,, then about that time, I could restore sysmte image,,
    about this time, I could not restore only system only.And not hope to restore all.
    (I need to manually make I volume again,, etc,, It is really terrible for me,,)

    About daz studio 4.5 I have no problem,, at all..
    (I think if windows up-date,, net framework etc,, or new AMD driver cause this problem,, but un-install and re-install
    old dirver seems not solve this problem,,)
    Is there any suggestion?

    now when I try to re-install Carrara 8.5 Pro by DIM, everytime,, alart, window pop-up,
    then it say

    "you have already installed another version ,,"

    but I can not see any Carrara in controll panel >aprication setting window,,
    (And I can not find any un-installer of Cararra even though I re-install Carrara 8.5,,)

    And I have un-installed all version of Carrara 8.5 by DIM already,,,
    hope to clean uninstall and re-install Carrara 8.5 pro (but do not know it work or not,,)

    Then which version "Visuall C++ or net flamework distribute" is really need for Carrara 8.5 Pro?
    I am afraid , if another aprication or driver overwrite and change version of them,,.

    I stop to install by DIM, then manually install Carrara 8.5 again,, then find some clear erroer message.

    1. it stop and aleart window say

    " different version product has been installed,,, can not continue install process ,
    to uninstall different version use controll panel ,,,etc"

    I think it is about no Carrara,, it seems about Visuall C++ runtime,,
    but I could not detect which runtime prevent it,,

    2. Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly
    Error running C:\ Program Files .... Carrara 8.5\vcredist_x64.exe/q:a
    Program ended with an error exit code,,

    Help someone please ^^;

    Ok,, I could find what cause this problem.
    just record here,, if someone find same problem.

    it is the newest driver offered from AMD as official release version.. thanks AMD,.

    I tried to install another version but it still keep problem,,

    then I re-install each visuall C++ ditributable again,,,
    after that, I could install Carrara without erroer message.

    but still Carrara can not launch , close suddenly without show dialogue window.

    I perfectly bored,, then just test AMD Catalyst™ 14.4 Release Candidate Driver ,,no expectation,

    fortunately after I install this version,,Carrara 8.5 pto can launch again,,, ^^;
