The difference between 'Default' and 'Unassigned'?

I'm from DS3 and I'm struggling with the DS4.6 Category system - for example - I'm used to the 'Unassigned' category for new content, but now I seem to get new content in 'Default' as well as 'Default / Unassigned' (where it's found inside the 'Default' category.
Why the double references to new content?
Thank you!

Default "unassigned" just means it has not been given a sub-category, such as "Wardrobe > Pants". Once you r-click and assigne something to a category it will leave the unassigned group.

Thank you for your reply. So does that mean that I have to move the sub-category too?
I like to keep my Unassigned (and I guess the Default, now) category empty so I can spot new content easily.
Thanks so much!
Everything should at least go in Default, or you will end up with a bigger mess. But any "new" things that are unassigned that you save yourself, or install will cause the Unassigned Category to show again.
New items are flagged as New and will keep that flag, unless you have set your preferences otherwise. Not all new items, (those with correct Metadata and categories set up) will go into the "Unassigned" category.
