I have a background in architecture. I think Daz could really move into an area of 3D architectural design. CAD systems do this already, but, are expensive and beyond the ability of most desktops to use absent enhanced CPUs with GPUs and high output. A building's massing, envelope and various architectural elements, textures, colors could all be valiabe.

I heard something about plugin for Carrara called Architools, but it's not available anymore?

Is there a reliable way to convert from LWO to OBJ? DAZ Studio and Hexagon don't recognize this format at all, while Bryce 7 refuses to import it due to some incompability.
there is a reason they are costly, LOL. DS is very far from being effective in architectural design. It can be used nicely for rendering these types of designs, but you will need an actual modeling app to create them.
Lots of modeling apps support the Lightwave format (.LWO) as does poser. Try Blender since it is free.
On a similar note an import modual for sketchup format would be great. I know you can export form SU as as obj and import but that can be a bit unpredictable I find.
