hair under hoods

with hair under hoods I am finding real difficulties in getting it to drape under the hood
I had to ignore collisions in the end and painfully manually style it or it wants to pop over the hood
afterwards simulating could enable collisions instead, am wondering if a hood with reversed normals would work but sadly on a rigged figure could not reverse the normals

in future I might need to render twice, cull backfacing polygons use shadowcatch and overlay hood render on hair one
I mean this is working but for the amount of work involved layering may be faster
the animation
its part of something bigger I am compositing with Twinmotion backgrounds
and another using a layer
Thanks for these posts. I'm not ignoring you, but I don't have any useful suggesitons that you have not already mentioned.
I gave up, reversing the normals on a VWD hood helped as could that as a prop but it is still worse than no hood at all
postwork adding an alpha png hood layer seems the only practical solution so far
