Hi. I'm ready to upgrade to :smirk:Carrara 8.5, but don't know if it will run with OS X 10.9 (Mavericks). Can anyone shed any light on this topic?
Thanks

Search for Mavericks in the forum...
No problems here with C8.5 on Mavericks.
Yes. Got Carrara 8.5, installed on my MacBook Pro. App works, except none of my content appears when I start the app.

Hmm - Actually all of my content appears, but none of the native content shows up. I was going to reinstall at some point and try to fix that - I wonder if it's a bug.
Just the asinine DIM voodoo causing the usual crap. No, I don't have C8.5, so I won't be of much use sorting it out, sorry. There have been some very recent threads here that discuss the missing content and the solution. I would search the forum for them.
I installed the Carrara 8 Native content to the location where the Carrara 8.5 app resides . . . and now my content appears on startup of Carrara 8.5!
Glad you got it working! It's a complex program with a lot of nice extras, so Ican understand the installation being a bit more of a hassle than some other stuff, but I've felt for quite some time that DAZ has really needed to simplify the process. Even if it's renaming the various bundles to something like, Install 1st, Install 2nd, etc.
Now that I'm actually paying attention, what I meant to say was that the default Scenes, Objects, Shaders, etc. are not loading - so I see nothing in my tray (other than my own content or the native content that I loaded). Also the option to select a Preset or the Landscape Wizard are not available in the New Document window.
Have you heard of this one?
