Where is my content?

I just upgraded to Carrara 8.5, Mac version. When I start the program up, I get the tips & hints dialog. After I cancel out, I get the dialog box, but can't select anything except for an empty space. After doing this, I get a blank screen with no content showing in the browser. H E L P!!
