To the High Priests and brethren,

Does the fur work in Carrara? Anyone try this - Hoodie and Hot Pants Set. Also, as a general note, it would be nice to see Carrara compatibility included in the Compatible 3D Software box on the ad page.

Thanks

Your humble servant

No, it does not work directly, but it's easy to put a fur on it in Carrara.

    Ok, here is how:

Select the Actor of the Jacket.
Pull the Hair Object onto the Actor.
    The Hair First Setup appears
Select UV Based and Texture Map
Within the Tool Tab in the Properties bar click Select by.
In the popup select Fur and click ok.

In the Properties bar within the General tab make the following settings:
    Length 0,02 m (2 cm) or 1 inch
    Thickness : Medium
    Hair Group Name Fur
    Hair Count 100000
    Mode Short Hair/Fur
    Guide Count 10000
    Guide Sampling Polygon Center

Click the Destiny Add Tool (the hair with the + )

Additionally, if there's a texture map associated with that product for the hair part of it, you can load it into the Carrara hair's color channel in the hair shader. You may want to do roots and tips.

This image uses the Mil big cat Sabertooth morph and the white tiger texture map, and I've also copied it to the hair shader.
