the noise of the cooking timer has lost all it's magic without my Bubby.

he used to wait on the bed so still with his paws crossed, waiting like a perfect gentleman. a lil line of drool.

sigh, can't bake any cookies today out of butter. don't think the stores are open, don't wanna walk all that way to find everything closed.

i should throw more stuff out today. purging is always fun. freeing somehow. which reminds me of wooly, he was packing light.

My New Year morning started out...not so good. Woke up at 7 a.m. feeling a little cool. I reached over to turn the light on - click - click - nothing. The power was off. I called the Power Co.™ and pushed a bunch of numbers, then headed out to breakfast. Power was back on and the temp was back to normal when I got back home.
Maybe a year that starts out like this - nowhere to go but up? :)

In good news, my Santa Ninja image was one of the weekly Daz Studio Staff picks in the Forums at "R".

The second time...uh, I started to say "this year".

    Or was supposed to. Can't really remember what date it was eveyrone had been raving about. Never really payed much attention ^^;

Mmm my New Years 2014 was kinda boring. Slept through half of it, had a splitting headache the other half. Don't recall any fireworks or partying, but then again fireworks aren't allowed where I live. Miles of forest in every direction and all that.

Only actually a little more than one year...it was supposed to end in December of 2012. But there's nothing in the Aztec calendar that actually says that. People just assumed. And Felix Unger was proven right again.

yikes iz cold. blizzardy t'morrow and it isn't the dairy queen kind. 28mph wind >.< and flakiness.

    frost alerts for Austin. :bug:

...the place I was at (a small hole in the wall type pub) had their annual New Year's Disco Night complete with Disco ball. Now this place is small and they had to move several tables outside leaving enough room for maybe six to seven people to dance at any one time.

Anyway a fun time and they paid several classic ABBA tunes.

...ugh, Wisconsin defence can't stop the South Carolina big plays. Badgers just ran back a kcikoff for a touchdown after which SC marched right down the field again, courtesy of both a big pass and run play. Now reviewing a play which is probably another SC touchdown.

Yup, call was reversed and now 34 - 24 South Carolina ahead.

Worse, Wisconsin's starting quarterback went out with a shoulder injury.

This will be the fourth consecutive bowl loss for Wisconsin in as many years.

Update: 5 minutes to go and big mistake after SC just intercepted a Wisconsin pass.

...wait...Badgers just forced a fumble and recovered.

..wait again. 3rd down and inches and WHAT??!? A Pass Play??!? Intercepted in the End Zone by SC!

Unlike the Green Bay - Chicago game on Sunday, Looks this time like Defeat is snatched from the gasp of Victory.

less than 2 minutes to go, Wisconsin has the ball back but need's to get two scores (10 points) to tie with the backup QB (who in two successive possessions thew two interceptions).

Screen pass, pitch to another player, ball fumbled (third Wisconsin turnover in the fourth quarter).

    Put a fork in them.

...ugh, fourth time on the big New Year's Day stage and they totally embarrassed themselves again on really stupid play calling.

Think there will be some front office shake up in Madison during the off season. Passing on short yardage 3rd down plays when when have one of the most powerful run games in all of college football and giving up huge plays on the defensive end while having one of the most stingiest defences in all of college football.

So NOT a good start to the new year.

    ...ick and poo.

..four college bowls on New Year's day:

    Gator Bowl
Capital One Bowl (which Wisconsin lost in embarrassing fashion)
Rose Bowl - the "Grandaddy" of all Bowls in spite of all this BCS rubbish, held on New Year's Day for the last century.
    Fiesta Bowl.

I believe the Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl (still yet to be played) used to be on New Year's day as well. However, with the profusion of all the "meaningless" corporate named bowls in recent years as well as the whole BCS fiasco, things got moved around a bit.

They've closed, of all things, the Callahan Tunnel in Boston for repairs until February or March. A lot of traffic goes through there on the way to Logan airport. Must be a wonderful mess. I'm glad I don't go there very often...like once in a few years.

    ...ugh, bad football day.

Not only did Wisconsin embarrass themselves on national Television with inept play calling and hat tick of turnovers in the final quarter, but "Sparty" (Michigan State) just managed to pull off beating Stanford in the Rose Bowl. No love for Sparty here after the way they treated Wisconsin fans the last several seasons.

So far (at least sports wise) 2014 has not gotten off on the right foot.

Actually the song "White Rabbit" uses Alice In Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass as a metaphor for drugs.

Usually it adds on to what you already have. I don't know if any of the rules have changed, like they seem to do.
