Help With Naming Surfaces

Yes:
This is just a simple question, I hope. LOL !! but does anybody out there know if there are any 3d applications that name surfaces besides Lightwave 3d. It seems like anytime I import a prop that I have modeled in another 3d application, and import it into Daz 3d Studio, The surface label becomes, " No Name " when I click on it.

Please write back soon wit some options. I really appreciate the help, and support from you all.

    Just about any modelling application should be able to rename surfaces - how are you naming your surfaces in LW and how are you exporting them? Which version of LW? If you open your OBJ in a text editor and search for usemtl do you see the correct name?

    I changed one material into CoolBlue export it to .obj - imported in DAZ.
    All is done in one minute and I don't know much in Blender..
