Yes:
This may seem a little simple to some of you, but I'm really stuck. LOL !! My question is, " How do you cast a shadow from an object in Daz 3d Studio.? " I know that it has to be in the Render settings, and that the object needs a light source of some kind. Please write back, and tell me this answer to my question. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ever so much

Michael :-)

You need to have the Shadow Type set to Ray-traced or Deep Shadow map on your light, and the object set to Cast Shadows (usually on by default) and something to catch the shadows.

    Hi Michael, Richard,

... and please keep in mind that you see the shadow and some further effects only in the render result.

I am finding out that that is not always the case. For instance, in a render I did just a few minutes ago, I had to turn 'casts shadows' on for the Genesis 2 Female -- and there was no global setting for that, either (or if there is, I didn't see it); I had to go to every body part, and turn shadows on for each one.

Well, you can always expand the whole tree in the hierarchy, by right-clicking for example, click on the first, shift-click on the last and set the Cast Shadows property for all of them at once. However, for me Cast Shadows is on for G2F by default.
