DS 4.6 will not load, problem with video card driver.....

When I try to load DS 4.6 , I get a message as to why it will not load.
It seems I need to get a video card driver that runs OpenGL 1.3, at least.
I looked for this driver but there is none available for my old and inexpensive video card. This became a problem only when I loaded Windows 8 as my OS.

Seems I now need to get a new video card.
Has anyone else had this occur?
Thanks.

Yes I had the same problem. I had to go to the AMD Radeon site.

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows 7 - 64

The Catalyst program has to be installed.

Start here to put in system information:

What is your video card...exact make/model?

What are your other computer specs and what version of Win8 (32 or 64 bit)?

OpenGL 1.3 would not be the problem as it is an older standard that even relatively ancient video cards would support. The problem, if there is one, is a driver for Windows 8. Contrary to what has been mentioned, you do not have to install Catalyst Control Centre software. You should have several options presented once you go through the drill of locating a download on the AMD site. If you choose the Catalyst download, rather than the standalone driver, you can still just install the driver in the package by choosing a custom install and unchecking Catalyst Control Centre. I wouldn't install it because it can be a resource hog and probably of little use to you with an older card, but your choice. You will need to know the model of your GPU (not make and model of the video card), For example X850XT, HD 2600 Pro, HD3850, etc.

OK, so I checked, and unfortunately, if your card is earlier than the HD series, like one of the X series, you're out of luck - no driver support for Windows 8, only up to Windows 7. If it is any HD series (HD2xxx onwards) or above, you're gold.
