I start the scene. I add the figure, the shoes, and the dynamic tights ... That's it. I save. I go to re-open it, and it tries to tell me the file doesn't exist. Ideas?

    What operating system? version?

    Is your CMS running, properly?

Is everything installed in the default locations?

I assume you mean Windows? What's the CMS? And I assume everything is since I just did three other scenes this week with no such problems.

It just seems to be this scene. But there are only three elements. It's frustrating.

    Yeah, Windows...

    Content Management Service.

Some versions of Windows are pickier about where the content is installed, but if you use the standard/default locations, it's usually best.

If CMS isn't running Studio can loose track of where things are, among other things...like the database not being updated to know where things are and stuff like that.

What is the exact error message?

    "Could not open file .....
    File does not exist."

As you can see in the screenshot, it does exist. I even re-built it, saved it under a new name, and tried to re-open it in a new daz window. It refuses. But my other scenes are fine.

It may be my poor eyes but there does not look to be a hyphen in the path name in the error dialog box, but there is in the explorer window title

Are the other ones, (working ones) also saved to the desktop?

What happens if you close DS and then, double click on the file, on your Desktop (Windows should have assigned DS as the default program to open that file format, as shown by the icon...))

It looks like you're right. But all of my files have hyphenated titles. Just this one is persnickety?

Most recent ones are, yes, for easy access until I am finished with the project. Then I just move everything to it's final resting spot, later.

I normally open a file by double clicking the related DS icon, rather than opening Daz and opening from there. That takes longer ... lol.

Try naming it something without a hyphen, or moving it to somewhere other than the desktop...it's probably a file name problem; there's something about that particular name/path Windows isn't liking very much.

    Yeah!!!!!!

When I went to change the file name, I noticed the hyphen was longer than the other files that have hyphens. So I deleted it and replaced it with a small hyphen and it opened :D

    Yeah!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for helping me out, guys :D

    Merry Christmas :D

A double tap on the hyphen key will drive you to drink or insanity...
