I'd love to fling money at the first Devolper who can offer Pinup/Mid/Late 20th Century Hair Styles for Gen8 Ladies, where the hair strands blend together and a viewer isnt distracted by a collection of individual hair strands bending this way then that,

You could use OOT's hair shaders for that kind of finish and then light it properly.
I would kill for Mary Tyler Moore and Dick Van Dyke characters and hair from their show.
More than agree with this remark. With a good shader you get it done nicely!
In case you don't know, OOT's stand-alone hair shader product is called Iray Pair and is on sale at Renderosity. I have it, and it's a great way to update pre-iray hairs.
If "Iray Pair" can make any makers hair texture as smooth and natural flowing as all OOT hair, thats would be brillaint. Or does it just change the color of existing hair?
