Hello Peeps,

I was looking through Indiegogo, and saw this fab little thing called FaceRig. Has anyone else seen it?

I think that it would be great when used with iPi Soft’s motion capture.

Could see serious potential for capturing your own expression from a still image and translating it into expression morphs in Daz... Would be a whole lot more intuitive than trudging through all the manual dials if you've got a mass of things to get through.

Does anyone with the right technical knowledge think that would be possible?

looks similar in function to a Mixamo Unity app I did a 15 day demo of.
unfortunately you need Mixamo all access for that one which is rather dear and yearly.
reading this it will be locked to apps, only an expensive (surprise) MAX/Maya version there are a few of those already!

It’s like a cheaper version of faceshift. That’s extortionate though, and only works with a Kinect.. I tried the demo, and it was really easy to use though. It’ll even morph the dummy head to the shape of yours, so if it worked with Daz Studio/Poser, you could make a character look and sound like you.

Saw this thing on youtube today, doing a crowdfunding thing. When they said you can make your own I thought that some people here would like to see it too. Definitely interested in it's potential application :o

They seem to be catering for a lot of the hobby market, so it looks like you’ll be able to use it in Daz Studio, Poser, and Carrara with some, or no tweaking.

Ahh ... If it was released for Daz / Poser ... As it is still not possible, a vote goes for: Pro Brekel face ...
Recalling that brekel pro face has an update (Pro Face Brekel Kinect Setup v1.63)

well I bought it from Steam and guess what you need the pro version for commercial use and there are strict limitations on use
    so
    I really would not bother

I would have expected that you had to have the Pro version if you wanted to use it for commercial purposes.

I finally got the latest beta to work

I want a Pro product not a beta if I have to pay more for commercial purposes

Is it any possibility to use own 3d models in Face Rig, or is it only limited to ready made avatars, that come with the program?

I think you need a studio version coming later really though there is a PDF of requirements needed for importing models as collada and tga files listing biped bones needed maximum number of triangles, no blendshapes only bone rigging etc, has images and hierarchies needed and folder file naming conventions
it needs a script to prepare it I have yet to find, there is some info on the forum I saw for importing props through command prompt

Thanks, Wendy, for checking it up. Also found "How To Make A Basic Prop Using Blender 3D"
    http://facerig.us/index.php?resources/how-to-make-a-basic-prop-using-blender-3d.10/

Does one need to buy Studio version (whenever it will be available) or will the Pro version
    allow to use FaceRig commercially?

    need Pro to use commercially
but apparently the standard $10 version will still import props and models, I did find that script exe to do it too.
but all very complicated it seems
