Non Standard Paths for Daz Studio

I've finally arrived at the point where my Daz Studio Library is too large to host on my C drive. I wonder if there is a good resource somewhere, or even some advice any of you had to offer about planning a re-install whereby I placed all the product files on an entirely separate drive.

My content libraries have been off on other drives for a while now. The challenge that I've run into isn't so much with DAZ Studio as with the DAZ Install Manager (if you use that to install your content) as that tool wants to put some things in your User Profile folder (which is by default on c:\users). Also the Content Manager Service needs to have some information in the Public profile (c:\users\Public by default). You can get around some of it by moving these folders using standard Windows tools, but for things like the CMS, look up some of the threads about Content Manager stopping abnormally to figure out what must stay on your C drive for it to work.
That's kind of what I was afraid of. Is it possible to configure install manager to place these search related files elsewhere?
The DIM has a very small footprint and the Same for the CMS and the Databases they are saving are only standard text based files on the C drive. Your OS creates larger files at boot than they do with years of use. You can easily move your content folder and set DIM to it. I have, my Folder is on my Data Drive and installs to my data drive.
My C: drive is a 335Gb SSD believe me I do not want EXTRA on it but I allow both DIM and CMS because of the standard log type files they use.
The download location and install location(s) can be configured in DIM to use a different drive. The files that can't be are miniscule -- my 3753 product manifests (that DIM saves so it knows exactly what it installed for each item) total under 56Mb.
What does it say about me that I can remember a time when 56 MB was anything BUT 'miniscule'?

That you may be as old as I am?
That you may be as old as I am?Nod, my first HD was 20MB and boy was that HUGE way back in the day.

I remember the original IBM XT with the 10MB hard drive, and being totally confused as I was used to the dual 5 1/4" floppies.
So it sounds like so long as I configure DAZ Install manager to install on the secondary drive the search stuff can go in the normal location and not create a ton of overhead. Great info. Thanks for the assist.
One Tip, you will get a FULL C drive if the DIM is set to LEAVE the install files in the DL folder. I set mine to delete after install. I keep backups on my Data Drive by manual Download.
Roger that. Thanks!
You can also set the download location to your data drive..
I know My friend but I'm a A type, I need the files to be just so for my backups. The DL folder is fine but I save things to different folders for back up. Like All Genesis to one folder, all Environments to another and so on. Just my way of doing things.
Greybro could use that info to their advantage though...
Yeah, I archive them to separate folders after install -- saves having to download twice.
