I running daz 3d 4.5 and seen tutorials on lip syncing. I can't find it in my version. Am I missing something?

Are you using the 64-bit version? Lipsync is only available in the 32-bit version (You can have both installed if you wish.)
Thanks! I'm running 64. I thought 64 would be better, I guess in this sence its not. if I load 4.6 32 will it work and what about the licence and my purchased products.
I just started in Jan of 2013 and wanted to learn the program before I bought very many products. I'm an old lightwave user from the early 90s and daz on the PC is so far above the Amega and lightwave

The 32 and 64 bit versions will share settings, including content set up and the serial number. I would advise reinstalling the 64 bit version after installing the 32 bit - that way when you double-click a DS file, assuming you do, it will be the 64 bit version that opens. You can keep the 32 bit version for Mimic use. Two things to be aware of - starting either version of DS, or doing File>New, will wipe the temporary files created by the other version if it is open which could prevent it from rendering until restarted; and, if you have a plugin pane open in one version and not available in the other (as, for example, LipSync) then opening the version that doesn't support the plugin will mean it is closed next time you open the other version (but you can still get it back from the Window>Panes menu).

so if i get it right, if i download ds 4.6 32 i will have everthing i need and purchased products will be where they are supposed to be.
what is the advantage of 64. oh my computer is 64, does that make a difference.

PS I'm down loading 4.6 right now, when do get to pick 32 over 64.
The Difference is the RAM each version can use. 32 bit is limited to 4Gb Total for the system and files. 64 Bit will use the upper limit of installed ram your OS can support.
Tip: I often set up my Lipsync in 32 bit save the file and then load that file in 64 bit to do my rendering to Frames.
OK thanks on the 32 v 64. I'm downloading 4.6 now and never had a choice between
32 and 64. Now what?

First I’d like to thank all that responded to my question about lip sync.
An up date on what I ‘ve done so far.
Installed 32 and 64 bit Daz 3D
Rendered short animations using sound bits from the samples.
Conclusion what I’ve done this far sucks.
First of all the only program and windows open was Daz 3d. Once the animation was all set to render as an avi video with the sound bit , it wouldn’t play smooth. Ok, so I rendered it to the default settings’ and also some other settings of compression. All with no luck. Then I rendered as single frames, then combined them and the sound bit in a video editor and still no luck
Jaderail, you said that you sometimes render your file to Frames in 64 bit. When you say Frames, is that a program or you referring to individual frames of the animation? And do you save your set up animation as a scene file to render in 64 bit?
Should I be using Mimic Live? Is there a way to make multiple saves of a rendered animation without re-rendering the animation?

I render to FRAMES from the Animation never to file. I then use a editor to assemble the frames to an animation file. I then use a third program to go in and add the sound file to that animation. The only thing I use Lip sync for is to get the motion on the figures face.
Here are things to keep in mind...
FRAMES per second. This must match in the Lip Sync save file and the Render to frames file. The converted to Animation must also Match the FRAME rate. That way when you LOAD the sound file to the proper frame the sound starts at the same frame.
More info. I do lip sync in 32 bit. I save that file to my ONE content folder. I close DS and reboot my PC. I open DS 64 bit and load the file I saved from the 32 bit version. I then render that File as frames. I also do more lighting tweeks in the 64 bit version because I now have the extra RAM to render with. And then I proceed from Frames to a finished scene with sound as mentioned above. DS Studio alone is not going to allow you the full control needed to make good animations. You will need other tools.

I finnaly got it to work, the only thing is the output from daz leaves the color pixelated. It was rendered in the higest setting. I combined 5 short animations in Cyberlink Power Director 10 editing program. When I saved it to a animation it ended up with color banding as well. I tryed all the compression settings in PD with same results.

I render to Frames as the DAZ Studio output option. I always render to PNG. That way each frame is set to the Same color pallet. And it allows for Green screen effects if I wish to add any to the Alpha layer. One thing to keep in mind is Deep Shadow maps, They can cause render errors and it is known by 3Delight, that is something that they are working to fix and nothing DAZ Studio has any control over. To prevent errors in renders always use Raytraced Shadows on lights that need them.
