Are you:

1 Waiting?

2 Celebrating?

3 Already tipsy?

4 Floundering for the bed?

5 Hungover?

Personally, it's 5:00 PM here on the US East Coast. It's snowing heavily, the wind is ferocious, the outside temperature is 16F (-9C). I'm warm and toasty in my recliner snuggled under my granny blanket. I just opened a holiday gift of a box of Hickory Farms spicy sausage, smoked cheese and crackers, and a bottle of Korbel Brut that I've been saving for 6 months, dug out my one and only champagne flute, poured myself the first of many fills, and settled back watching the BBC America "Dr. Who" marathon episodes that I have filling my DVR box. I probably won't make it to midnight. And after a couple of refills of the glass probably wouldn't be able to understand the rapid fire British accent anymore anyway.

I'm waiting to celebrate because I'm already tipsy... we have people staying with us, so I'm going out...
    that didn't come out right...
we have people staying with the people who are staying with us... so I'm going to my friend's house...
actually my wife is going there (to our friend's house) with the kids and she is probably taking me with her... unless I can find a good place to hide again.
Lately I've been hiding in the big box that my generator came in, but they threw it out... I probably should have kept it in my shop... I think the tip off was it being in the living room in front of the TV... that and the beer bottles made a lot of noise when I moved around.
There are plenty of good hiding places in the house, but most of them are getting hard to fit into now... I think the house got smaller due to humidity or chocolate cake or something...
My finger's tips are really big right now... and this damn keyboard keeps typing the wrong letters which are not the one that I've planned on typing... I mean there was not a lot of planning per se, but like I want to type "there was not a lot of planning per se" and the keyboard makes it come out "thevr waz noytt al9out ofg plant8i g per soo"... which I don't think is right... right?
Now I've got to use spill chick to fix it.
    Anyway...
    What?
    Who said that?
Never mind I'm reading out loud what I'm typing... I thought there was someone else in here besides me.
I just realized I have a lot of colorful post it notes about Blender all over my desk... the program blender, not the thing you make Pina Coladas in...
That reminds me of a song...
I won't sing it... I forgot how it goes... something about drinking warm pina coladas on a dark desert highway in the rain...
    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
    too soon...
    later...
    By-by!

I'm still at work (not for long). I plan to go home and watch all the mess on TV. Australia has already celebrated. London is coming up any minute. We usually watch the New York/New Orleans/San Francisco rounds on TV. I'll have my requisite one drink at home (in between renders, maybe). Happy New Year!

Lordvicore is the only one who can make a holiday greeting the funniest thing you'll read all week. Come to think of it, lordvicore can make a README file the funniest thing you'll read all week.

Update: Time is now 7:00PM. Temperature is now 12F (-11C) but it's stopped snowing for the moment. But 30 miles north of here (half way to Buffalo), it's major snow. The one big advantage to being retired is that I don't have to go anywhere if I don't want to when the weather's bad. Cheese and crackers & sausage all gone. Korbel bottle still half full, daring me to continue.

Here in Tucson, the sky is clear, so no spectacular sunset tonight. The old thermometer tells me it's 73 degrees, but it will drop maybe 30 degrees overnight. Quiet New Years Eve, we did all our partying around Christmas. Happy New Year!

It's New Years Day here already so Happy New Year to you all!!!
It was a quiet one for me... Saw the Sydney Harbour fireworks in the distance here from my balcony but then it was soon to bed & up early to tend to the veg plots. Hope all have a fun & safe night with a wonderful year ahead. :-)

I'm working on a render, my first to ring in the new year. It actually isn't sucking too badly, so I'm hoping that's a sign that I'll have a better art year in 2014 than 2013.

My First day will be BAD, I plan zero sleep, a Big day out with shopping, and MY first render of the year will only please me. But I had fun creating it so it WAS FUN!! Welcome to 2014 everybody.

Happy New Year everyone! I barely made it to midnight but crashed shortly there after.

I don't have a TV so I normally play an online game and veg. Today I think I'm going to watch Vids, DVDs, or something and try renders. Maybe have something to show for it by the end of the day. I may even work on a frustration or two lol.

Update: Fumbled for bed at 10:30PM, fell asleep but woke up at 11:58PM in time to turn bedside TV on and see the NYC ball drop. (big whoop!), rolled over and promptly z'd out again.

This morning temperature is 14F (-10C) and it's still snowing, the driveway has disappeared, and I still have half a bottle of stale champagne left. Perhaps I can cook with it. 8-o Happy New Year! I think next year I'll do New Years Eve in Colorado and smoke myself to sleep instead. Alcohol just doesn't get along with me anymore.

Jan 2, 9:20AM, temperature is now 10F (-12.2C), it's still snowing (5 days now), emergency siren in town has blown calling volunteer personnel into the local fire hall. Ambulance and police car sirens are slowly whizzing by on the icy/slushy road to some apparent accident nearby. I can imagine a few places where they are likely going. Damn, I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere today. Finally finished my bottle of Korbel this morning. (Yea for retirement!) PS: the bubbly kept its bubbles 'cause I didn't let the bottle warm up, kept it in the refrigerator.

Chicago will have -5F temperature as a "high" tomorrow. a day or so after that we'll get it here. Brrrr... Knock on wood, my electricity is still on.

Not that I have one anymore, but just curious about how long it takes a waterbed to freeze. 8-O

Good News! Chicago's high tomorrow will be 15 degrees according to many local sources. The bad news: a high of -7 on Sunday. However since forecasts that far out are wrong most of the time, I wouldn't worry about it.
