...havent been over here in awhile but I needed to some some horror pics and theres some good monsters here. Longtime poser user, tried the Daz software but really didnt find it user friendly, dont care to move all my resources to a new software.
So foolish me decided to try again....Install manager again doesnt work...so downloaded the zips manually, they wont unzip to poser, have no other issues from any other website. Only other thing I know to do is to unzip em into a folder and try and import em into daz...doesnt work.
Very frustrated, wasted money and an evenings work. Always liked the site and the people behind it so will say, the installer needs to be fixed, and bye. best of luck

Have you made any attempt to contact help or any of the admins here? They're usually very helpful.

The Runtime folder in DAZ's zips are inside a Content folder (the setup DS uses). Unzip the file to a temporary folder, grab the Runtime folder inside the Content folder, and drag it to the correct location. Should work fine.

i never bother unzipping to a temp folder, i just open the zip find the runtime folder, copy it, then navigate to my content folder and paste

I'm just wondering if the OP is trying to use Genesis stuff in an older version of Poser. I think Genesis stuff only works in Poser 9 or above and even then you need DSON

that is why I asked what content and what version of Poser.

As for the stuff that has been purchased but is not working, I believe Daz still has a 30 day money back guarantee

    Couple of things

One, you don't have to move anything even if you did want to use the DS software. All you have to do is point DS at your current runtimes. DS can parse most Poser files. It can't do cloth or hair sims, doesn't see dynamic hair, cameras can be a bit wonky and lighting is different.

If you are a Poser user, I don't recommend you use the DIM for installation. Especially if you have definitive external runtime set ups. It can be used as a download manager. Just remember to uncheck install after download.

As posted above, if you unzip a DAZ folder, you will find some code and Content folder. The Runtime folder you are looking for is inside.

Now for the rest: if you are trying to use anything that is for Genesis, you need at least Poser 9 or above. You also need to have the DSON importer which you can purchase here at DAZ. The DSON importer installs to your Poser python folder and is a bunch of python scripts.

You also then need to install both the Genesis Starter Essentials and Poser Companion Files that come with preferably to a separate external runtime that can be written to. This is important. If you want to use the newer Genesis 2 Female/Male Generation 6, you will need to install the Genesis 2 Starter Essentials and Poser Companion Files. The Starter Essentials and Poser Companion files should be installed to the same external runtime. It saves time while Poser is searching.

The Genesis Starter Essentials gives you the base Genesis figure and the Genesis 2 Starter Essentials gives you the Genesis 2 male and female base figures. Everything else for Generation 5 is a morph of Genesis and Generation 6 is morph of one of the Genesis 2 models.

I won't confuse you anymore until we know if you are even still with us.
