Bryce 7.1: imported object does not stay grouped

edited December 1969 in Bryce Discussion

Not matter what type of 3d object I bring into a project via the import object command, it is not truly grouped even though the tab indicates that it is. I can move individual elements within the object independently. Ungrouping and regrouping the object doesn't fix the problem. It doesn't matter what type of object either, (DXF OBJ, 3DS etc) I also have Bryce 6.3 still instlled on my computer and I can bring the same object into that version of Bryce with no problems. Very frustrating because there are features I like in Bryce 7.1 but I'm tempted to uninstall it and just live with Bryce 6.3 I'm running Bryce on a PC with plenty of ram although I am forced to use the integrated video chip on board instead of a dedicated video card. . Any ideas what's causing this?

@GFXdood - you've got to move the group. Individual objects within a group can still be accessed and manipulated. What you experience is normal behaviour and very helpful to fine adjust parts without the need to ungroup and regroup.

Concerning the video card - Bryce doesn't use them. It works with the cheapest video card. Other programs use the GPU to render (like Octane), Bryce uses the CPU.

Working on the theory that one picture is worth a thousand words
