Item Troubles!

Hello.

This will be my very first post here on the forums, hello everyone :cheese:.

I'm really new to this whole 3d posing thing and sooner or later I was bound to get stuck. I've purchased many items from the Shop, both for DAZ Studio and poser items. Currently only using DAZ Studio though.

So to my problem! I really like the Install manager. Nice tool. Everything is organized in the Smart Content tab on the left. Anything else, both DAZ and Poser can be found on the right in Content Library. Things should show up as long as the right directory folders are selected. However, when I installed dx30's OverKnee Lace-up Boots (which look great) and then purchased PG-Graphics's HOT Boots which only work if I own the OverKnee model. The only problem is, I cant find the OverKnee model in the smart content tab. Nor can I find it under Daz Studio on the right. I can, however, find it under the Poser Format tab, which confuses me.

This may very well be simple and very dumb, but I'm currently stuck and have been for a while. I figured I'd ask in hopes to get it resolved before purchasing more items and bumping into the same issue! I'm sure it's on my end. Help please? Do I need the OTK Fashion Boots? Links below. HUGE thank you in advance!

If they are showing up under Poser format, then they are installed...

That said, that item looks like a Generation4 item, so the fact that it doesn't show in Smart Content makes perfect sense.

The boots are a older item and in Poser format. So you found them the proper way. Many items, older ones and many from other sites are going to only work this way

As for Smart. Items need Metadata to ever show them or related content when selected. If the item and add-on's do not have metadata, much out there does not, it will never list in the smart tab. Selected or not. Learn the Poser and DAZ Studio Formats sections in the Content Tab. Much of the sold content on the web will only work from those area's.

Jaderail, really appreciate the reply! It all makes sense then. Really have to pay attention to versions. Glad to know that nothing is really wrong, other than my understanding lol. Thanks again!
