Keeping some clothing items from morphing

Best as I can ask the question...
With Genesis, I've had problems with some clothing morphing beyond what is even tolerable. Armor etc looks terrible from time to time because it isn't meant to be so bent or distorted. Chest plates distort etc...
So, with Genesis in mind, what tricks might be available to keep parts of clothing 'solid' instead of molding and distorting.

If you look in the parameters tab under actor you will see the morphs applied to the item from genesis.
You can try tweaking these or dial them completely out of the item to see if it fixes the issue.
Sometimes you can remove pokethru if it occurs by hiding the offending bodypart under the armor after you dial out the morphs.
If your feeling adventurous you could also look into rigidity maps.
I have the same problems with armor. Armor is supposed to be rigid, and is NOT supposed to bend and morph like cloth. I'm no expert at DAZ, admittedly, but my solution is to not "fit" the armor to the figure.
When I load the armor pieces, I set the fit to "none", and then parent the piece of armor the corresponding body part - which is how real armor would be fitted to a real human in the first place. Sometimes this can result in some awkwardness when posing - but, again, this is far more realistic than having the armor bending when fitted to the figure. The pose on the figure will have to be adapted to the inflexible armor. If there are flexible parts to the armor, you can morph and pose those individually.
Again, I'm no expert, but I've been quite satisfied with the results I've gotten using this method.
That's what makes sense to me...the 'solid' parts like a breastplate should just be 'props' while something like a chainmail hauberk would be perfectly fine as a 'fitted' item.
