Anyone get an joy from any of the new content available with Poser 11.2 update?

Hya,

Just downloaded a lot of stuff with the new poser update Baby Luna, Hivewire horse etc.

The only thing where the joints work correctly is the dwarf.

The other (non figure) stuff looks a bit rubbishy except maybe for Fink's flowers.

I wondered if I missed any gems in it?

Also is there a way of getting the new poser stuff to work in Carrara properly? (is fix joints).

Any joy with Fenric's plugi? or  a waste of time??

https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/38623/poser9-weight-mapped-figures

thanks in advance :)

The Bugatti car I used in the NPR thread is in the props/vehicles.

Also the Desert terrain I used in Stezza's Lorenzo thread is 3S_DrylandExpanse byShaaraMuse3D.

Overall am very happy with all of the extras and will find a render for them sometime, except for Luna, Dawn, Dusk, & Le Femme - I have enough figure options without them.

I've got Poser 2012 for a song quite a few years ago, nothing impresses me to upgrade to the latest untill it only costs about $20

so I'm no help other than the HW3D poser stuff doesn't work in Carrara you need as Wenday says the DS versions...

but from what I hear Ross is really happy laugh

Moroccan Dream - is a bit ordinary for photo-realistic, but scrubs up nicely for NPR. It also has Cactus & Palm trees suitable for kit-bashing.

Only Poser downloads as far as I could find.

Ross is a marketing gimmick over at Rendo.

My edition of Poser is Poser Pro 2014.  I still use Poser 7 figures from time to time because they work in Carrara and I have some cool historical and occupational content for them.  Confusingly, the Poser 7 Sydney and Simon figures were called G2 figures.  This is confusing for me because I also use Daz3D's Michael 6 and Victoria 6 characters, which are also called G2 figures.  surprise

I experimented with some Poser figures with the newer weightmapping (Poser 9 and above).  The figures were called Miki and Tyler.  I used Fenric's injection plugin with limited success.  Problems with the feet persisted (what is it about feet?). I think Fenric said it had something to do with the hierarchy of the figures being messed up.  Don't remember clearly.  There is probably a related thread here in the Carrara forums because I remember asking about it.

Does anyone use Poser's other features as a plugin for Carrara?

eg., new features in Poser Pro 11? draping cloth and exporting obj? rigging a figure for use in Carrara? wardrobe wizard to convert a mesh to conforming clothing? other?

Wondering if I would benefit from upgrading to Poser Pro 11

EDIT - upgrade for me is not free, think about $100, USD.

has a good FBX import, you could save your Carrara models as cr2

and those load in DAZ studio and can be converted to weightmapping

I cannot recall if you have done that with the previous one already

so many people I have told devil

    greetings

    :)

I have bouight several of the last versions mainly for the cloth room and the fitting room and to try the NPR/cartoon render engine

Of course with VWD cloth room is now antiquated - the fitting room wasn't too bad but finicky, the NPR render engine required you to be au fait with scene setup in poser - so I never went far with that

The other thing poser was good for was tweaking fallo off zones in cloth that I had xdressed - but I rarely do that anymore

I also bought the last one because you could take eg M4 and K4 and combine them into a new figure - but it the wrong type of weight painting - so that was usueall to bring it inot carrara

Unless they bring out something universely mind-shattering in the next installment I can't see myself buying Poser - unless everything from poser could be brought over to carrara seamlessly - as it has been n the past

If there was a way I'd gift my Poser 11.2 to someone that needs it, as I have no intention of installing it.

I got the Poser 11 Pro as an upgrade from Poser Debut & Poser 9.

Will mainly use it for the cr2 files Wendy is talking about, using "prop" clothing, materials folder, will also try rigging to see how that compares to Carrara/DAZ Studio rigging for me. Might check out some of the other uses now that I have the Pro version instead of a base version. Carrara will remain my main working platform - DAZ Studio & Poser are "plugins".

The 2nd Poser Pro 11 update has quite a few goodies with it, would imagine that they would cost a bit if you bought them independently. The Bugatti car costs $15.00 alone.

there are a lot of lovely props indeed by people like Dante

you should at least download those, its a huge haul and all should work in Carrara
