P4 and PP, what are these?

I see some item in my content library that end with P4 and PP. What are they, or what is the difference between them?
Thanks

P4 = Poser 4
PP = PoserPro
Two very old versions of Poser...they are the material files 'optimized' for those versions of Poser, because when PP came out, it changed the way materials were handled (especially bump maps), so both were issued, for compatibility purposes. Both are pretty much useless now, other than loading the basic textures, as the other settings are way off for modern renderers.
If those are the only choices use the PP version.
