Save last render button in render preview window

During long renders, I often need a preview of the render, e.g. for layouts, checking lighting / color consistency, etc.
So I often find myself doing the following:
- Interrupt the render
- Type a name in the render file name
- Save Last Render
- Type the same name in the render file name box
- Resume render
I think it would make sense to have the "Save" button work during rendering, allowing you to save an intermediate state of the rendering.

I would like this too. I usually turn off tone-mapping and render to canvasses, so I can't look at the render window to check on my render without doing a test with tonemapping on. My renders can take a while to look like anything if I'm using atmosphereric props, so something like this would be very convenient.
One thing I'd like to add is that, when working with canvasses, "Save Last Render" only saves the active layer using whatever tone mapping settings you have active. It doesn't save the canvasses, so the workaround that works with straight renders doesn't work in all cases.
