Key framing color change.

Let's say I have an plain, hairless, genesis figure with a transparent background. I want to gradually change the shade of the color from paper white to a deep brown while change nothing else. I have a clip of this effect so I know it is possible. I figure this should be possible with key framing but can't figure out how to do it in Daz or Bryce. Can someone point me to a solution?

IN DS you could do this with Shader Mixer, getting the frame number from a Variable brick and using it to control the colour (perhaps divided by the number of frames fed into the alpha input of a mix brick.

Is there someplace I could find a bit more detailed instruction, i.e .proceedure? What is a variable brick and how do I access it and make it work in the manner you suggest?

Have you looked at the Shader Mixer? If so, you could copy your existing materials (if any) from the currently selected surface using the pane's own file menu, then using the brickyard create a layout like the one plugged into Diffuse colour on the DS Default Material brick here - my results, with nothing else modified so it's very basic, are shown on the little sphere.
