All products, poses, etc. gone!

Hello,

I am assuming, perhaps, it is some sort of indexing problem - I don't know - but none of my purchased/downloaded content, and none of my saved poses appear anywhere (I had hundreds of presets and unassigned poses, but these options on the right sidebar no longer show), even when I search for them.

I haven't changed anything concerning the program - no directory changes, no changes to the computer, no upgrades or anything - they are just gone. The files are still on the hard drive though. What can I do to have everything appear again?

Help please.

I'm assuming that you are not using the Content Library view....

    What operating system?

Yes. I tried that also - the Content Library view - because I often do key-word searches for various products, etc. Nothing shows up when I search.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Can you post a screenshot of what your mapped directories are?

You can find it under the Content Directory Management...either from the Preferences dialog or the drop down menu in the Content Library.

Other than the mapping to the Program Files folder, things look fine...if they are mapped to the correct user path. Does the content actually reside in the User folder shown?

The folders seem right, and I even added more to the list to see if that'd work, to no avail. This is the weirdest thing, but it has really hand-cuffed me.

Does having the program, and other things related, in Program Files create a problem? Is it recommended to reinstall in a different location (as long as I don't need to repurchase things, etc.)?

    Thanks.

In order to make things 'safer' MS has declared Program Files 'off limits' for user data...and content qualifies as 'user data', so nothing should be installed there.

Next, make sure that the Content Management service is running...

Gotcha. Is it possible, with download manager and whatnot, to un-install and re-install all my software in order to have a proper operating environment?

Also, sorry for the ignorance - how do I make sure that the Content Management service is running?

    Thanks for the help!

Just curious, but you have verified that the content is all there, right? :)

Just using Windows Explorer and seeing the files?

Also, have you tried the option on the Content tab to search the identified directories for new content? Just to see if it got confused somehow?

    Hi JohnnyRay,

Yes, all the content is still on the computer, in their regular locations, as verified in MS Explorer.

I did try that feature and, while it found 4 folders with content (there are many more than that), the program is still not showing anything under SmartContent, and there is nothing under poses.

    Thanks for the help.

Can you give the exact path and filename of an item that isn't showing up?

it sounds (from the description of the Smart Content issue) that your metadata may have gotten corrupted. I would probably do a reset of the database and a re-import of the metadata. BUT someone with more experience with the Content Manager stuff should weigh in. I wouldn't want you to lose any manual categorization or something because I gave bad advice.
