Smart Content Not Working Properly

When I start up Daz the Smart Content is Available (though some of the content will not load and seems to be in odd places for some reason - e.g. Mech Enforcer shows a path to Moonsong earrings for some reason and thus will not load). However, if I select something from the list (which does in fact load), the list then disappears and I cannot select it again. I've attempted to reset the Database and then to reimport the metadata, but this has not worked (in fact, it makes the information in the Products and Categories sections disappear altogether). I've also checked to make sure that the DAZ Install Content Management Service is running (and it is). Does anyone have any ideas? I am running on Windows 7.

I know that I will likely have to reinstall all of my content eventually because it appears to be scattered throughout my hard drive (which is understandable for content purchased elsewhere, that is, not at DAZ, but I don't know why it is the case for DAZ content - some of which was loaded prior to the install manager and some thereafter). I am curious if there is a way to do this without having to download everything over the internet again (my connection is rather slow and the process would take a long time). Is there a specific place that I should put all content (both DAZ and Poser formats)?

Thanks in advance for any help that you guys (or gals) can provide.

One: Content installed before the DIM was installed to one Folder and DIM defaults to another folder. I think your content is in more places than you have DAZ Studio mapped to see properly. From your post it seems that way to me.

Two: To rebuild a Database you need to DELETE the old one first or your just RESETTING and populating a bad one over and over. And it will still hold a error as most errors are garbage text that will not be removed from the file.

I've been working with the Tech Support team on a similar problem involving missing Genesis 2 base figures. DIM defaults to the initial installation folder for new installations of DS4.5+, which may not be in your content manager directory listing. That being said, installing products from other sources may introduce corruption. The recommendation is to create a new folder which is reserved for DIM installations only.

To identify the location where DIM content is placed, click on the gear wheel in the upper right corner of DIM, then the "Installation" tab. If you elect to create a new folder, make sure to click the "Install to Selected Path" button.

Corruption of the database may also be present. To accomplish this, you need to exit from DIM, DS4 and stop the Content Management Server before blowing away the database.

Yes You most STOP the CMS before Deletting the OLD Database. And I have mentioned in many POSTS now that INSTALLING any content, be it from DAZ 3D or another Site, or by DIM or hand Installing with DAZ Studio open (READING the Database) is a FAST way to error the database file. I have had Zero problems with my Database by doing just this..
Back up your USER database at least once a week, If you use Categories EXPORT user Data is enough as it is a FULL backup. And NEVER install content with DAZ Studio OPEN. I have been error free for over two months and counting and I have installed over 500 items from DAZ 3D and about half that from other sites. All to my one default content folder.

Now watch the bugger blow on me tomorrow... But I hope not. :bug:
