GENESIS not showing, where to install?

T.KickT.Kick Posts: 60

Using DAZ PRO 4.6.0.18 (64-bit)
on WXP 64-bit

Upgraded from 4 > 4.5 > 4.6

After upgrading from 4.5 to 4.6 the Genesis default scene is not showing, when program opens.

When searching for the figure I cannot find it anywhere.

I downloaded 'Genesis Starter Essentials'.
But now I'm puzzled where to install this new content?

I seem to have 3 folders:
- 1x Documents and Settings
- 1x Program Files 64-bit
- 1x Program Files 32-bit

Please see attached image.

Any suggestions how to proceed?

Content goes in Documents & Settings.

You should not have a folder named "Content" underneath "My Library". The folders inside "Content" need to be merged with the ones inside "My Library".

    merged the folder.
placed the new content in My Documents > My Library, and all is working fine now.
    Thanks.

Next step for me is to get Genesis2 working.

I tried copying the 'General' folder to My Library, but no new figure shows up.

Please see screenshot for files that I have available.

Assuming that the M4Textures02 will integrate without problems.
And the Templates could be used for creating your own textures.

I'm puzzled where to put the "General' folder from the Genesis2DMC-download.

Yeah, I don't know why they set that up as General rather than as a plugin. The genesis.dmc file needs to go in the "...\plugins\dzmimic\Configuration_Files" folder of the 32-bit version of DS (it only works in 32-bit).

    So ...?
No use for me then? I'm only running 64-bit systems.

Got my hands full with the stuff currently installed, so not much lost there, I think, for me at least.

    Thanks for the help.

You can have both the 32 and 64 bit versions of DS installed on a 64 bit system. You can't run 64 bit software on a 32 bit system but the reverse isn't true.

    Right.

But ... as I find it quite enough to deal with 1x installation, I'l leave it at 1x 64-bit install.
For now I'll have enough options to choose from for my needs.

Both versions share the same content and settings, so you would have to install only the application and plugins/shaders.
