Where is "find new content"

Forgive me if this has been answered before but I can not find it.

I have been away for some time and just installed 4.6.1.39 on a brand new Windows 8 machine. I successfully mapped to the locations I have my old content but I can not find the "find new content" option after you reset the database. When I try the metadata options I get only a mere fraction of my content to show (I assume because much of the content I have was purchased other places besides Daz.

I Have fiddled with the content manager to no avail.

Also why I am at it how to you get new content installed (purchased somewhere besides daz) installed and showing in the content manager.

I trust there are easy answers to these issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Right click the Content Library tab > Scan known directories. If the pane isn't open, use Window > Panes > Content Library to open it.

Content purchased elsewhere is manually installed. Here's a thread about installing via zip: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/27011/

There is no way to get Third party content so show as SMART content, if that is what you mean, without creating MetaData files for the Content. I use the Content Library Tab to find my content. It works just like the DS3 content view did. Most times 3rd party content, unless made for Genesis, will only be found in the Poser Formats Section that can only be seen in the Content Library Tab.
I hope this helps you find more of your items.
