One idea is that you have to first post your pull, and at that time post a list of 3 person you want to render "a day in xxxs life" for. Then they have lets say 2 days to back out, and if they don't then you are good to go, what do you think?

It sounds like you like the basic idea, and we an always have the mods as targets just in case all on your list backs out.

What if we depict ourselves instead of each other? That could eliminate all sorts of complications.

That was also a thought I had. But I like the idea of letting a martini-lunching drow meet the cherry-tree running biker. If we do like this. We pull, and when we post the first pull, we say YES or NO to be a render target. We need to pull and post the pulls rather fast, then within two days there will hopefully be a lot of targets to render, and we always have the mods in case we run out. No more than one "mock" of each target per person. Does this sound like OK?

" No more than one "mock" of each target per person" Is there also going to be a continuing story? If so each "target" would only appear in one of the renders. Is that right?

I think each render shpuld tell it's own story this time, but I think we should add text to it to explain the render, as we usually does. OK, I think I have the basic rules straightened out.

    What the hey; I'm game!

I have no issues with being a "render target" -- I've been a target of a lot of other things. (What was it Winston Churchill said: "There is nothing so invigorating as being shot at without effect"? Although hearing the bullet whizzing past my ear did, in fact, have an effect; fortunately, an extra-long jersey helped conceal it!)

One thing though- you'd really have to give some links or help out a bit on people's backgrounds because you say RRRR has a long history but I really had to dig to find the past two threads. How many are there? This type of thing puts newer people at a disadvantage and also it may be time consuming to dig up facts about folks. That's kinda why I was thinking sharing some info about ourselves (not required) would not only be interesting, but helpful. I have no idea about most of these folks (other than I adore them.)

AND I'M COMING FOR YOU KEN. (evil cackle.) I suspect Luci is too. (That would be fun for another contest- tag teams!)

Just be glad you're at the bar if that snow/ice is coming your way. I'm too far south this time. Are you in line for it? We got about 6 inches of rain last night and today, and it's still going. GLAD it's not ice. And Drows are allowed to 'hic.'

Yep we expecting about 3 inch's here today. And maybe the wet kind that pulls down power lines.

Actually, that sounds like it might be fun, all by itself!

Tag-teams.... Something tells me that there might be a bit of that, in any case!

I will try to collect links to all entries threads from the past year or so i the starting post. I can feel you are all eager to get going. RRRR is the best motivator to sort up all the new stuff in the orders inbox into a file. I would never do that otherwise.

Oh, man, that is going to be a chore! Need some help? (Raising hand to volunteer; god, I'm such an idiot!)

And how far back do you intend to go? Come to think of it, how far back will you be able to go? I don't recall exactly when it was that you moved it from the PC forum, or when the forum software itself got switched over; would we have to go 'plundering the vaults'*, as it were? How would we go about doing that? How much of the old forums are even still intact?

    * 'Plundering the Vaults' is the name of a record label (I think it's associated with Warner Brothers/Sire); they released a number of titles by one of my favorite groups from the Seventies and early Eighties -- Renaissance -- on CD. I thought it was kind of cute, because that was exactly what they were doing!

..apologies, fell out of the loop a while back. Was unsubscribed to several threads.

Also had more imminent things to deal with which pretty much has put the kibosh on my 3D work lately.

Congratulations to the winners of the Story Contest.

Between RL events the last couple months and the time it takes me to even finish on pic, doing three scenes was just a bit too much for me. I got about as far as the two main characters and that was it (had some technical issues with one that still have not been resolved).

As to the new theme idea, I think it should just involve the personas of those who actually enter the new challenge (and maybe mods). One way to do this: people should state they are "in" at the beginning before posting their random pulls. That way those who do not participate (or who have disappeared from the forums) will not be eligible "targets".

I feel that is only fair.

It turned out not to be as massive, or as tedious, an undertaking as I had assumed. Well, it started out that way, but that was only because I was doing it wrong; I started with the last page in the Commons forum, and started working my way back. After about thirty pages, I thought, "This is nuts!" So I opened a File Explorer window and navigated to my Projects directory (where I store all the Poser and DAZ Studio scene files that I create) and started zero-ing in on the file date-stamps. And after a while, I thought, "This is almost as nuts!" Finally, after exhausting all other possibilities for accidentally stumbling across a common-sense approach, I typed 'RRRR' into the 'Search Forums' box and..., Voila! After that, it was just a matter of confirming the file date-stamps, then copying-and-pasting links.

And here they are: two from the Platinum Club 'Members Only' forum (because one of them was the first 'themed' contest, and thus, of at least some "historical significance"), and all that have run in the Commons (I counted eight; does that sound about right?).

Aw, that was sweet of you to put my SeaNautica thread. Thank you. She's left the realm of the official RRRR contests but was certainly "born" here) and she's fair game for mockery. (base character is Ariadne, and I think Taylor Hair)

I was just thinking when I saw your post that I would link to it from mine as I put the RRRR links from the last two into the first posts so RRRR wouldn't keep getting buried. The forums move so fast that contests that end go whooosh into the neverlands of posts. So I'll go do that.
Perhaps we should state whether we are "in" or not as soon as possible after the rules are posted.

    I'm in, Ken's in, Totte's in I assume?

    Another thought....

When Novica mentioned that her 'SeaNautica' character would be, as she (you are a 'she', are you not?) put it, 'fair game', it occurred to me that we could also have a bit of fun with some of the 'avatars' that we've created -- I'll happily toss Martin and Alexis into the melee, and who else remembers Luci's 'Witch Balea'? (I ran across her while meandering down 'Memory Lane' a little while ago, and I recalled that she had appeared in several of Luci's entries....)

So, if somebody doesn't feel comfortable lampooning (parodying, satirizing -- pick whichever gerund fits) the artists themselves, perhaps they'd be less hesitant about playing around with one of the characters we've created.

Oh, and further following up on Novica's concern about new people being at a disadvantage, perhaps we could flesh out our DAZ profiles a bit....

    Just brain-farting here...!

How do people do other people's avatars? I've always wondered that, when Spyro and Jaderail were going back and forth over in the Art Studio thread. (I laughed SO hard when Spyro shot Jaderail in the booty with an arrow.) Do you share the morph formula in a PM so the other person can replicate the avatar or what?

I'm Fair game in both modes. The real Jeff mode posted below from a walk in the park was a 100% hand dialed face using the Face resource sets (I have all five) and the M5 Beard and body hair set, any male texture would work. The Jaderail can be built from any Genesis male with the M4 Age displacement maps added to the proper channel, the texture is the Rendo M4 Drow. It also works on the G2M. Hair on both are the Cuffed Tail. There are no REAL photos of me... and will not be. Here are both for reference...

EDIT Hair on the Jeff is not the Cuffed tail, but any ponytail would do.
