Sending PMs - Default setting does NOT save a copy

This one gets me every single time - I write a PM, send it, and then find there's no copy in my Sent Messages folder...
And then I remember...
Every time!
Is it just me?
I was told by one of the perpetually optimistic community volunteers in August that "...we have been promised that they will be moving to a better forum software sometime in the not too distant future..."
ahem ;-)

Same here, at first i didn't even realise you had to check the "save copy" thinghy... which resulted in a lot of akward messages of me asking "did you get it, it's not in my send box" :D
This is why the first thing I do on sites I register at (and apps I download for that matter) is comb through all of the options/settings so I know what's there and set them how I want.
That's the problem... you can't change the default to 'save a copy' here in the DAZ forums PM facility. As far as I know. But I'd love to be proven wrong though!
Umm... I've never been on forums where the default WAS "save a copy"...
The old forums did that - without an setting to change.

Yeah...and I hated that as much as the folks who hate not saving, by default.
My preference is to not save, by default, with the user settable option to globally save AND have the individual option on each message.
Rendo also does it by default.

Hm. You're right. I don't remember doing it, but I must've manually hit the checkbox when composing for the ones I have in my sent box.

I find this option (or lack thereof) to be extremely frustrating. I'm used to saving emails, and PMs at forums I frequent, by default. I don't like not having a copy since not everyone I might PM will hit "quote" when responding. Call me anal, but I like a full record of a conversation.

I'm much the same, anal, but learned to tick save long ago. As mentioned I was caught off guard the OLD FORUM auto did it. Most forums I visit do not.
