Someone called saying if I show them a green dot card with x amount of money, they would give me a loan of Y amount of money. Can they just see how much is on a reload green dot card without taking the money? or is this a scam?

Sounds like a scam to me. There's quite a few green dot scams going on at the moment. I think I'll stick to PayPal and Google Wallet for now.

Thanks for the link. I read it over and it was helpful.
I prefer re-loadable credit cards as I only need to put money in to the account when I need to use it, making them IMO the safest way to shop on line. To OP question and in general, if it sounds dodgy it probably is.
There is a new company that say if I buy their account upgrades I will get a free webpage and a share of their profits and so on. The caveat is that it is an annual fee of a hundred fifty. They do not have the Daz money back guarantee. How can I find out if this company is legit or just scamming everyone so they can get money?
The only Green Dot I know is a real company that issues reloadable credit cards, however what you got sounds like a scam.
