Calling Stu? -workflow Carrara to obj to 3DCoat for autoretopo probs

I know Stu Sutcliffe had good success combining Carrara and 3D Coat in a workflow.

I've been trying to use 3D Coat to add detail to my models. 

An example of great success (for me) is using 3D Coat to UVMap.

A failure (so far) has been attempts to use auto-retopology.  I've tried exporting several different Carrara models as OBJs and loaded in 3D Coat with no success.  Can manually retopo, but not Autopo.
