Why do I have two DAZ 3D folders in My Documents?

I noticed I have two folders named the same "DAZ 3D" in "My Documents"

One of the folders has lots of my stuff in it and the other much less.

I have always installed everything using the Install Manager.

I have begun to install a few free things manually however following 'medhue' instructions on his you tub site.

any idea how i got the two folders?

You can't have two folders with exactly the same path. One of them has to be different. Are you sure you're looking at the My Documents folder tree? Or are you looking at Windows' 'Document Library' and seeing it there?

Right-click on each, choose properties, click on the Security tab.

At the top, you will see the full path to the folder. For example: "C:\Users\jonnyray\Documents\DAZ 3D"

I'd be willing to bet one of them is something like "C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D"

DAZ changed the default from saving in the user's My Documents folder to the public My Documents folder. This made it easier when multiple people share the same computer to use the content from each of their accounts.

DIM doesn't install to 'My Documents', the default path that DIM uses is C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library.

Do you have these two folders listed inside DAZ Studio as content folders, in the Content Directory Manager?

I have one DAZ 3D older in My Documents, but it has DS3 content, and I just left it there, and told DS4.6 where it was, so I can see it in the Content Library pane.
