Does it work in Poser?
Could some one tell me about this product: Dynamic Classics for V6&V5; Supermodel by OptiTex. It says it has a DSON core installer. Does this mean it will work in the Posers dynamic clothroom?
If not, I really wish it could be made more clear. With a caption like: "Only" for Studio. The column "Compatible 3D Software" is not always true, I have bought products in the past, that have said it was compatible with said software ver. # and I have found it does work in both programs.
But all in all, I would really like to buy the above product. But only if it works in Poser. I do have both dynamic simulators but I prefer Poser's clothroom.
Ideally, OptiTex needs to convert all of his excellent products. So they work in both programs. I can tell you right now, if OptiTex did, I would buy them all without a thought.
So, does anyone know? Please and thank you.

Unless they've made drastic changes, the answer is no. Not a straight import via the DSON plug-in, anyway. Whether it can be exported as an .obj and converted by any other method I can't say, as I haven't used the cloth room much in either program lately. And yes, it would be very nice if program compatibility was made very clear; just because an item is in DSON format does not mean it works correctly or even at all in Poser. One good indication that it will is if there are Poser Companion files listed in the description. If not, ask around and see if anyone's tried using it in Poser and what results they've had. You can, if you have Studio installed, make your own Poser Companion Files for products lacking them. Sometimes they work perfectly, others not so well. It all depends on how the item is made; if it uses things that are Studio-specific only (for instance smoothing) Poser won't understand it and will most likely make a mess of the import.
Sorry I'm not much help, hope you can get more knowledgeable Cloth Room users around here to sort things out.
DSON Core = Daz Studio files
DSON Companion/PoserCF = Poser files
Thanks guys, that clears up a lot of what I did not understand.
I still think OptiTex should covert his products to work in Poser. Their products look mighty fine!
Oh well, my money will have to go something else.
Have a good day.
I haven't dived into Poser dynamics yet, but from what I understand is it can turn any *.obj into dynamic. If that's the case, you could export Optitex's clothing from Daz as an obj and import it into Poser.
In fact there are a few products in the store where the PA working with Martin from Optitex has done just that, The controllable dynamic cloak is one such. Here I have managed to fit it to M4 in poser and run a drape.

In the main however any thing that says it is by Optitex as one of the vendors is going to be for DS, unless there is a separate version, as with this one, which is for Poser.
Yup, it is true on what you all say.
I'm very proficient with the Poser clothroom and I do know about importing obj. But this still requires further set up, re: the type of cloth, silk, linen and so forth. My whole point on this, is buying a product so I do not have to do these extra steps. My pleasure is creating art/images. And not having to take those extra steps speeds up the process. And that is my reason for posting, to let the merchants know some of us would like this choice. It is one of the reasons we create with these programs, its easy and fast and mainly, it is collaboration of artist. That is all.
