Just how much info is saved in scenes? is everything self contained, meaning I would be able to take the scene file and work on another computer or do I need to copy the content folder to do this

    "Save scene" is a script!

In that script all features found in the scene have "path to library"

Yes, is possible to use the "saved scene" in other computer

    As example,
I decide to move all my data to another disk
    - I "copy" the library (not install) to another place (different name folder)

I change the path in "content directory manager" and all scene open without any error

    Note:
All my data are not in "user documents....."

All my data libraries are stored on open place outside system folder or hard disk
    e.g. D:\Library_x
In "content directory manager" you can manually path the D:\Library_x to any hard disk folder

Notes: the saved scenes are found in that library in scenes folder

I dont entirely get what you're saying. So you have to copy the content folder yes? I ask can you use the scene files on another device without copying the content folder as well?

    Greetings,
Yes, you need to have the content folder on the system that wants to load the scene.

Personally, I use Dropbox to synchronize my 'My Library' folder across two macs and a Windows box, which lets me copy any scene from any machine to another machine and it Just Works. I've heard of other folks using an external drive and moving their content tree between computers that way.

The scene file has references to all the files that are needed to collect the scene together, rather than including them all in the save file (which would get VERY big, and hard to manage, and unsharable because of copyright issues).

A Scene File will only work on another PC if the new PC has all the content in the scene installed and installed properly. So yes you need the content on the second PC before a scene will open on the second PC, its that simple.
