I'm Confused

I received the news about Gia, Josie and Olympia, but never really paid much mind to them, I did not have the head and body morphs at the time so would not be able to use them. Now that I have them, I decided to check them out.

For Gia it says she is a new model, yet says she is part of Genesis 2, so I don't know if she is a completely new model or a morph of Genesis 2. I think I understand that Olympia is a Character morph. I also think Josie is a character morph, based on what I read. I assume that Olympia and Josie, built on the Genesis 2 base, means I don't need the head and body morphs to use them?

I also wonder if the clothes and characters made for these three, as well as the Gia 6, Girl 6 and others created, mean I can use the clothes and textures made for them on Genesis 2, but I won't be able to use the morphs as I don't own them.

I get the same confusion when it comes to Genesis 2 Male.

I don't have the V4 and M4 morphs for Genesis 2, only the head and body morphs for G2 Female and the V4 to Genesis 2 Female at the moment, to make clothes fit (they don't fit very well at all).

As I look through the store, I see a lot of stuff made for the characters made for Genesis 2 Female and Male and very little for just Genesis 2, so it makes purchases a tough call.

Some clarity on these models/characters would be appreciated.

Unlike the original Genesis, there are both a female and male version of Genesis 2. (Same as with V4 and M4).

Gia, Josie, Olympia (and Victoria 6) are sixth generation figures which work with the Genesis 2 Female. You can use the G2F head and body morphs on them all, as well as on the base figure, but the morphs are not required to "create" them. However, other characters, such as Maia, Aspen, Norma etc are based on the main figures and need them to work.

So, you need G2F in order to use Gia, but you need Gia to use Aspen! (I think you also need the head and body morphs to make Aspen from Gia, but it says on the product page what the requirements are.)

All the materials and morphs for any G2F figure work with any other based on her. So does clothing and hair, but they may need a bit of tweeking, depending on the item and the figure.

It's the same principle with the Genesis 2 Male, you need a different set of head and body morphs but I'm not sure how easily materials and clothing are interchangeable between the male and female figures.

    Hope this helps.

The Genesis 2 figures can use clothing intended for the opposite sex via the autofit. Both figures include autofits for each other, allowing you to mix and match outfits. Not all items fit perfectly, but they're close enough that it should be fine for most uses.

Incidentally, Genesis 2 male and female are also compatible with the Genesis wardrobe via the same autofit, so they have quite an expansive selection of clothes. Here's Michael 6 (G2M) wearing a Genesis shirt and G2F pants and boots. Victoria 6 (G2F) here is wearing the newport set intended for G2M. It just goes to illustrate how well the two are compatible.
