Supersuit for G2M and G2F?
I would love to see a suit as versatile and helpful as the Supersuit for Genesis made for G2M and G2F.
There could certainly be improvements made over the last set, though the last set was extremely well-made and versatile in its uses.
The supersuit had several "lesser known" benefits such as using it for fitting or for the odd bulge needed in a particular piece of clothing on of the suit morphs could emulate. (Get your mind out of the gutter. :P )
I have smay's super suit for G2F and it looks grat, very realistic and servers its purpose but does not seem as versatile as the first supersuit.
I would love for DAZ_Rand to give it another go or perhaps someone new with an appreciation for superheroes such as Joe Quick (Whose Golden Age set is fantastic) to give it a go using the old Supersuit as a basis to springboard off of.
Who here agrees with me? :)

As of several months ago one was said to be in the works. The silence is deafening
To the party's involved and powers that be:
... Any news?
I would rather have a bodysuit similar to the Gen4 version. The supersuit was just too complicated to make products for, unwieldy, resource intensive, and not compatible with Poser to be repeated IMO.
You can always autofit it over to the figures; I usually grab the Gen4 version of the bodysuit as it has lots of textures that work with it, because it was a lot easier to work with.
You know that the supersuit can be autofitted to genesis 2 right? Here is Girl 6 and Basic G2 Maile in the supersuit.
The SuperSuit was over hyped, the only reason I kept it was all the shader presets that came with the bundle. A well made bodysuit with a great set of UV map guides (not just plain templates) would be more useful to me.
Yes, I am well aware it can be autofitted. I want one with form fitting directly to the new figures, accurate metadata AND HD morph sets to get a number of effects. :)
the3dwizard is making one, it started out with his post trying to gauge interest in a Catsuit for Genesis 2, and if you follow through the thread, he has some work in progress stuff, and I believe he said that there will be both male and female versions. To me, it looks like it will have a lot of stuff good for superhero work. The link to the thread is below.

I bought the Supersuit and while I like it, all the little geometry projection bits could get finicky.
I had mixed results auto-fitting it. Some looked pretty good, others needed a fair bit of work to fix pokethrough and distortion.

You know you can still use the visibility presets that are with Genesis 1 on G2F and G2M so no reason to worry about pokethrough.
Just thought I would mention it.. :)
Steve.
This is true, Steve. But if there were a Catsuit/Supersuit specifically for G2F and G2M then visibility and workarounds would not be an issue. :)
Wish a length-altering skirt had come with one of the original supersuit combinations. Always had to try and find something from another clothing set to substitute for one, when trying to replicate certain superheroine-like costumes.
LOL, I can honestly say that there is no piece of clothing I have that I would pay for again if it already fit GF2 thru autofit, just seems really redundant to me. I don't even own the supersuit, thought about it a few times when on sale, but since I get good results with other bodysuits I have and couldn't use any of the shaders for it, I saw no real reason. With GF2, between the Smay body suit and the autofitted V4 one, I am covered.
Okay, FMSC. Do you have any renders showing the catsuit combo that you use for the G2m and G2f superhero renders you are doing. Maybe you have a case. May we see the evidence to support this supposition? :)
P.S. : Found your X-Men post recently and the Wolverine was awesome. The girls look a little odd but the Logan was spot on. Was that Smay's suit for V6 fitted to Genesis or G2M?
SMay's looks excellent. Waiting for their next content-wide sale and then I'm probably going to get all combinations. Not sure if it's HD, but it certainly gives that same level of realism impression. If they made it so that you could choose different sections to thicken/thin and recolour, it would be ideal as a successor.
Now, if only I can get their leather jacket for Genesis working... :)
No images and not trying to persuade you, just giving you my take on it. I can get most mesh to do what I want either thru autofit, mesh smoothing, deformers, normal maps or if need be, altering it outside of DS and importing it back in. i am a modeler and really don't need everything to be plug and play when it comes to DS and content and rarely pay for things to be that way (included morphs, additional fits, etc.)
Thanks on the images, none of them are DAZ figures, but game models which is why the girls looked differently than what you expect from DAZ figures.

It all depends on what you are trying to do, and what you are doing with the material zones. If you have certain material zones transparent, and the fit is off, then it can look pretty wonky. Nothing I can't fix, just making the point that while Autofit is useful, it can be far from perfect.
Also, to re-emphasize this, I think a catsuit that utilizes the new HD tech would be a phenomenal addition.
The mind staggers as to the possibilities if done correctly.
Oh my God, YES! I'm NEVER one to turn down a traditional all-purpose bodysuit! :cheese:
I use the Basic Suit in just about all my clothing work for characters, whether I'm doing musclewear, t-shirts, gloves, underwear, socks and hosiery, etc. I even often find myself using Flipmode's G-Suit as well for other articles as well for the differing morphs and material zones. This is why I could never get comfortable with any of the other generation's Bodysuits save the ones for Aiko 3 & Hiro 3. Their suits had heads, hands and feet.
Though, with the one in the works, I would love to see them work on face options a bit more. There have been times I've wanted to use the suits to make basic masks like the ones you see in art and costume stores used for decorating. I can see someone making a killing on some nice Venetian and Mardi Gras textures for it. :)
That WOULD be cool. New Orleans is one of my favorite spots. Wish they had a virtual French Quarter about but no 3D model I've ever seen comes close.
If we were to get the right few buildings and the right few masks we could have a virtual Mardi Gras! Woo-woo!
Nice! Hell, maybe if the suit gets a mask set add-on like the supersuit did, they could give it special morphs that allow for stylized face shaping like long noses or different cheek and face styles, expressions, etc.
And of course, eye, nostril, and mouth material zones! :)
Funny you mention that, RC. I am beginning to suspect the new HD option is just a "supersuit" of sorts where the HD "skin" is fitted over the normal skin which is then made invisible.
I have long thought a suit like this would be beneficial for more detailed morphing in the nose and mouth and brow areas. This way you could make different creatures with different features much like prosthetic masks they use today.
But, I digress. *smile*
The Supersuit was great in that the shaping dials for all the mat zones made it really versatile. You could easily make a basic sweater or a suit of armor. Where I struggle with it is the lack of a mock turtle and regular turtle neck zones and an easy to use seam guide for making custom textures.
Yeah, the seam guide for that thing kind of reminds of the instruction sheets that come in many toys that MUST be assembled on Christmas morning...
Hello,
Just found this thread. Looking for some feedback on material zones on the suit I am making.

Hope you will stop by.
Cheers!
I am interested, YES!
