after purchasing a product it says the name in Install Manger and it ends in DS and another one with PS. Do I have to download and install both if I am using Daz Studio 4.6 ?

Thanks a lot.

    That depends...

Some products, if the DS and Poser files are about the same size, don't need both. Others, if the Poser is significantly larger, do need both.

    mjc1016,

Can you explain why I would need both. I use Carrara and the DS files rarely work. Probably because they are in an older format not supported by Carrara.

In Install Manager on the "Ready to Download" tab, click the "Download Filters" button to select the software you use. Then it will only show the packages you need.

Unfortunately if I just set it to show Carrara only it excludes all the DS and Poser content. It would be nice if the DIM recognized which products work in Carrara and which ones don't.

The ones that have small DS files and large Poser files have the mesh/textures in the Poser download, with DS only stuff in the DS download. The ones that are the same size are basically the same content in both.

Thanks. That's really helpful. Since most of the DS content doesn't work in Carrara then I should just download the Poser files. That saves me a lot of hard drive space.

Unless you're using C8.5 you only want the "Poser<9"-compatible files.</p>

Actually, unlike the old installers, if a package is labeled "DS" then it is stand-alone and doesn't need the PS version. If it requires the PS version it will be labeled "StudioCF".

here is what I think h appened

I downloaded and installed using the manger La Piazza DS. Couldn't find anything. Then downloaded La Piazza Ps. Then it all appeared. I think this is what happened.
