Somehow my layout got all messed up, and a bunch of menu items are missing. I can change the layout, and that will give me all my menu items back, but I hate the way the rest of the program looks, so I change it back and all the menu items disappear again, and I cant access the customize menu to be able to add them back in. Its kind of crazy theres no way to access the customize menu in most layouts. Any tips? Thanks.

I'd suggest going to Window > Workspace > Select Layout and select one you like, then go to Window > Style > Select Style to select a theme for the workspace. This will give you a genera/base to work from.
Now you can move tabs/panes around and go to Windows > Workspace > Customize and do as you see fit.
When you have everything the way you want it, go to Window > Workspace > Save Layout As. Give it a name and leave everything as custom.
This new layout should auto-load by default, but if it doesn't, you can go to Window > Workspace > Select Layout and choose the one you just saved.
Thanks for the insight, I had tried that before, but I must have missed the layout I was looking for. So problem solved. Why do so many of the layouts strip the menu's down to file, edit, window, and help? What use is that?
They shouldn't. At least they don't for me. All of the default menus (file, edit, create, tools, render, connect, window, help) exist on the default workspaces/layouts.
What version of DS are you using? Help > About Daz Studio > Upper Left
They are correct the Default layout is Basic only and City Limits is the only 100% layout. This includes menu's.
How is that possible? I have full menus on all layouts. Hollywood, Self Serve, and City Limits.
We are talking about the File, Edit, etc., right? All present and accounted for on any layout I choose.
Yes, the menus are cut down only in the introductory layouts.
