Characters into Stone

I was wondering if there is a product that will turn your model into stone. I am looking at M3 in particular as I am doing a render of Medusa and would like to add stone Hoplites.

    There is Statuesque

    http://www.daz3d.com/textures-skin-maps/statuesque

This product has many Gen 3 specific mats as well as mats for PC specific items. However, this product was created before DAZ Studio existed and the material setting will need tweaking if you are using DAZ Studio.

    There is this product

    http://www.daz3d.com/generation-4-statues

It has both Gen 3 and Gen 4 mat poses, utility poses and DAZ Studio settings

    There is this

    http://www.daz3d.com/sculptural-genesis-ultra-fun-kit

It has many DAZ Studio Presets. It's listed for Genesis but you should be able to apply the materials to Gen 3 items.

Why not start with what is already included in tDS?

In the Shader Presets folder there is a Shader Mixer folder. It contains several examples of Shader Mixer built shaders. One is Blue Marble. Just change the colors from various shades of blue to shades of gray and the scale values (X,Y,Z) and you end up with this...first image.

Or use the Stone Subsurface one and end up with this...second image. You can play with the scale (X,Y, Z) and colors, too.

I don't know about M3, but for M4 there's Joequick's Ice Man morph that changes the body to harder angles. A little texture adjustment and that could easily be made to look like stone IMO.

That's the one I'd recommend, but I'd use it with M3 for genesis, so you can use the "Custom Sculptural Tile-able UV for Genesis" that comes with the ultra-fun kit.

Most UV maps put the face at 2x-5x the scale of the body, so the stone shaders look very strange, with different levels of detail in face. torso, and limbs. There's typically seams everywhere, especially under the chin. Canary's tile-able UV map makes all shaders (not just hers) look good on genesis, better than they look on any other figure.

The first 2 products I listed can be used in both DS and Poser. It's best to read the product pages and the what's included page.

Most of them list whether or not they have mats for one or both.

Any products that list having Poser Companion Files along with DSON files can be used in Poser.
