G2 to G8 converter?

There are already at least 3 converters G3 to G8 but can sombody make a direct G2 to G8 converter? I know there is a way of 2 step convertion: G2 to G3 via GenX and then G8 via several ways. But! GenX is not reliable, not comfortable. It's result has the deafult G2 pose which makes further convertion very crafty. Its solveable but takes too much effort. A solid plugin could be very usefull for those who was working much with G2 when it was the last generation.
Actually this would be great to have a universal converter which works all ways with all generations.

Since there are already G3 to G8 converters, it would make more sense to have a solid G2 to G3 converter, that can convert a G2 character morph to G3.
It has sense. However G3 is not a generation for me at all. It is just G8-beta - same UVs, same rigs, same style. G2 and G8 were were events, milestones. And G1 and G3 didn't even live long, they were ephemeral.
Quite the opposite, G1 was a milestone, first genesis, capable of male or female. G2 was a shortlived afterthought because the PAs didn't like developing for G1 and wanted specific male or female mesh. G3 was an Iray event, and G8 is bascially G3.1
FSMCDesigns, totally disagree.
G1 did it's job giving birth to the comfortable usage, smart content interacting. Before this working with V4 was hell because of going cross-eyed with that tricky folders, and G1 made it handy. But that's it. G1 itself was number 14812 and G2 - 16280 already. That means G1 almost didn't live.
"G2 was a shortlived afterthought because the PAs didn't like developing for G1" - did you even understand yourself?
G3 lived only 1 year before replaced.
Iray appeared NOT with G3, it was a late G2 stuff. I often use G2 in 2019, very stable and comfortable, fully compatible with Iray if use a couple of clicks.
G3 had a 2 years life span, like earlier Genesis figures, and quite a few PAs kept supporting G3 figures after G8 was released.
I started with Daz in 2013 and I loved working with G2. I'd bought so many products for G2 that when G3 came out it was a major disappointment for me as suddenly nothing new was being created for G2, while G2 products wouldn't work with G3. So I decided not to got for G3 at all and even today I buy more stuff for G2 than for anything else, plus I'm always amazed when the PC+ Anniversary Sale comes around that I still find G2 products I've never even seen before. So even when G8 came out - which I was more interested in than G3 - I still loathed paying lots more for new items when I still have so many G2 still unused. I also only use my own characters in compositions, not set Daz characters as I don't want to use figures that are in other people's images - in fact creating my own characters is one of the things I love about Daz - so I'd really, really like to see G2 to G8 and also G8 to G2 converters.
Funny, I really liked G2 when it was releaased, but before i knew it G3 was here so i jumped on the bandwagon and never looked back at G2.
fast forward to this year and I became obsessed with VR. I discovered a game being developed in unity with licensed G2 figures. Standing next to life size animated G2 figures and being able to pose them with my hands is awesome, so i have been spending way to much time with this game and it has made me look at G2 addons in the store that I can import for my personal use. in the past few months i have spent more on G2 addons than G8, LOL
Mind you, G2 stuff CAN be readily adapted to G8 in DS.... with the appropriate apps, so yeah, G2 stuff is good to have lots of even with G8 in your DS scenes. But yeah, it sounds fun to be playing with G2 characters in VR. Any chance of them addapting G8 characters over to that, too?
the developer said that is the goal, seems they need to get the licensing in order first. Funny, the lighting in Unity is very much different from Iray and as such, the G2 figures look pretty dang good in this game in VR, probably due in a big part to the increased mesh resolution over G3 and G8. Which makes me wonder how the developers will handle it in the game since the goal is increased realism, but lower mesh with no HD or subdivision like DS has won't help with that goal.
GenX2 products for G2-to-G3, Xtransfer for GenX'd G3-to-Gen8; but yeah, a universal converter would be nice!
@helleformer @takezo_3001 : was that your experiences with GenX2? I am about to purchase it with the M4 and G2 add-ons but if your experience hasn't been fully positive, I might hold off on the purchase. My main goal is to convert M4 to G8. I already have a G2-G8 Character Converter by Riversoft but am looking for a reliable M4-G2 converter which I had thought would be the GenX2 product...
Character Converter
Thank you @NoahLGP for the headsup... I already had purchased Riversoft's G2M-G8M converter but am looking for a reliable Legacy-G2M converter now. About to purchase GenX2 but reviews on it from this thread seems less than favorable.
@DMax
What do you want to transfer ? G2 core figures ?
@NoahLGP Nothing except Michael 4 Base to G2M Base and onwards to G8M Base. I already own the G2-G8 converter.
I tried using M4-G2M legacy shapes https://www.daz3d.com/generation-4-legacy-shapes-for-genesis-2-male but the result was only 80% close so I am looking for a better M4-G2 converter.
@DMax
GenX2 can add the Michael 4 base morph to Genesis 3 but G3 to G8 requires manual adjustment before the transfer in order to prevent the G8 rigging issues.
You must adjust the M4 pose to the G3 default pose, export the OBJ and create a new G3 morph with it.
Once it's done the corrected morph (M4 + G3 pose) can be transferred to G8.
