Removing Keyframes

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

Hi all, I'm new to the forms. Until now I have been able to figure out everything with all the online materials. I am working on an animation that needs to become longer. This means I have to reposition key frames. For example. Frame 0 and frame 60 are keyframes. I need to remove the keyframe from frame 60 and make frame 90 a keyframe instead.

However, removing the key from the frame does not work. Even though I click the key with the "x" and that frame is not a key for any part of my avatar, when played, the animation still treats 60 as a key.

I am using the latest version of DAZ studio on a mac. I have tried everything I can think of to get DAZ to ignore 60 as a key. But nothing works. I would have to start oner from scratch and I really don't want to do that. Simple adjustments would work much better.

Make sure you have all the nodes (bones, figures etc.) that have keys selected when you remove the keyframe - the action doesn't affect unselected items.

    Hey,

be happy that DAZ keeps the keyframes. When I work with an animation and select a new object / character or a new bodypart of a character, DAZ everytimes remove all earlier keyframes automatically.

As far as I understood, keyframes are mainly used to fix the poses / moves for that time mark. So in my case, a pose or movement suddenly starts at the beginning of the timeline, although I fixed it at a certain later point by setting a keyframe.

I think, there's a lot to be reworked in the latest DAZ version.

The way key frames work has not changed in DAZ Studio in a very long time. The last major change was when we updated the file format from daz to DSON(duf/dsf). That only effected on the frame where saved, not how they were made.

DAZ Studio's base animation tools are pretty basic. If you want better control over key frames there a couple of useful plug-ins in the store such as keyMate and graphMate. aniMate2 is also a good product to look into.
