    ...I know.

With the likes of Sid Caeser, that was when comedy was at it's best and actually funny, not like the profanity laden rubbish passed off on us today.

As to "who's next"...might be closer to home then many think.

OMGosh, I hadn't been online and didn't know about either of those two. It does seem like it always hits in threes with celebrities. Let's hope not. I remember the black and white movies and Shirley's dimples- I may still have my Shirley Temple doll! (And my Chatty Cathy.)

Chatty Cathy died last year. There was a big noisy funeral. All her friends were there. It kept the caterers busy running around pulling the rings.

(*sigh*) Yeah, I know. So sad. :-( But I since I don't follow or care about 95% of current comedians, singers, actors, athletes, or the gaggle of uber-rich, spoiled brat, faux celebrities I get my revenge.

Hmmm... "faux celebrities" here's a new word "fauxlebrities". Cool! Feel free to use it.

I may just send that off to the host of the morning show on one of the local radio stations here...he'll love it.

Unfortunately Novica, not just with celebrities. ~sigh~

There was an article about Sid Caesar passing in today's edition of the NY Times. I remember Shirley Temple in the movies, and Sid Caesar and Imagine Coca on TV when I was a kid.

Ralph Waite unfortunately became number three. (From Waltons, NCIS, etc) I really liked him- sparkling eyes, wonderful grin. Never overplayed the roles, they just seemed to be so natural for him.

Hey don't lump us all in the same boat, although I might be the last generation who do know who they are (I'm in my early 30s). I did, however, live in a 4 generation household my entire life (grandma, mom, me, and my daughter after I had her), so that didn't hurt. lol

Now to go re-buy Grease on DVD/Bluray.

...I was thinking it was going to be Sir Paul McCartney. Today I saw a special issue of some news magazine with an older picture of him on the cover and a caption which read: The British Invasion 50 Years Later.

Seems when someone is focused on by the media in that way, they end isn't far away. Anyone see the shot of him at this year's Superbowl? The late years seem to have been fairly unkind to the one known as the "baby faced Beatle".

I heard about Sid Caesar& Ralph Waite but didn't hear about Shirley Temple til I read this.

I only saw one short news report about Sid Caesar, but have been subjected to news reports about modern celebrities drug and alcohol problems for over a week that I don't care about..

I'm sure TCM will be showing some of their movies next month as they always do when we lose iconic actors, etc.
