Mystery with Content Menu - Content directories showing that no longer exist
Hi Folks;
Hope someone has some ideas, suggestions on what is going on with my content menu. Backstory - Due to computer issues, I had been away from DAZ Studio and my art for almost 2 years. Finally got a new system and had backups of all my original content (Over 32 gigs at last count)
The first DAZ Studio reinstall with my backed up content I transferred into it was Version 3.1.2.19 - I have since added updated versions including latest 4.6 but kept my content in my Version 3.
I noticed for the longest time as in the past, I had way too many content folders showing up, so I finally bit the bullet and went thru the various content directories and moved stuff into the primary content folder. I then deleted the empty content folders so I only had one left in the DAZ Studio program.
Now comes the rub... No matter what I do, the empty content folders keep showing up in the content menu even tho they no longer exist so when ever I go into DS, I have to dig thru a number of empty content folders that should not even be showing up. I have rescanned my program for content, uninstalled the newer versions of DAZ Studio so I could deal with my original content files, etc. But no matter what I try, the empty content folders keep showing up in the menu even tho they no longer exist in my computer.
Is there any trick, tip, whatever that I can try to delete them from the menu? Perhaps a text file in the program that needs to be edited??
Any suggestions short of deleting the program and reinstalling years of content is appreciated. Thanks.
Bruce

It looks like you haven't removed these deleted folders from the Content Directory Manager, so they will still show up.
In DS4.6, go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, and get rid of the paths (in BOT DS and Poser Formats) that no longer apply. Restart DS, and they should be gone.
It is a similar picture for DS3.
Hi Jimmy;
Thanks for the feedback, but had already tried that - But only once, so maybe I will try it again to see if it takes this time.

EDITED: Did deletion several times in content preferences and on about 5th try it finally did the trick. Thanks again!!!
Try the below as well. It cleans up links from the Database that will be left by just removing the paths...
